rumph is absolute garbage. the 49ers hated him and he has no position.

Funny stuff. Niners fans think they got a steal in Jacobs. Skins fans think they got a steal in Rumph.

In the end, both will suck and it will be a meaningless trade.

Ah a loser traded for a loser, neither will see a roster in 07'. Won't start for anyone in 06'. A simple show of desperation from the Washington 49rs.

this is the best personnel move(dollar for dollar) the skins have made since snyder bought the team.

mediocre cbs are harder to find than mediocre wrs and the skins were not going to find better than rumph yet would have cut jacobs anyway.

pretty sure this move was fostered by gibbs or someone who actually has an idea what they are doing not the usual skin braintrust.

again, rumph is fairly spare and he is a first round bust but again he is a decent 4th corner and few teams have the boys depth at the position. prior to acquiring rumph the skins were going to be even worse than spare at the position. pretty saure they were trying to talk nate newton into playing some corner for them.

just my 2 cents.......jacobs was never gonna make our team. Rumph has good size and i know the 49ers did not like him but lets see what G. williams and our staff can get out of him. Maybe he can become our 4/5th cb.

Well, again, I dont see Jacobs as a below average player, just like a average one... And so with Rumph, I see the trade as a fair one for both teams.

Jacobs has a career 30 catches for 315 yards in three years of player.

He's probably slightly better than Terrence Copper, who can at least play special teams very well.

Trading for Rumph = Kenny Wright sucks and we need to look at alternatives.

To me it's a wash for either team. Maybe the 49ers can get something out of Jacobs, maybe G.Williams can get Rumph into the right situation. We would've probably cut Jacobs anyway so the fact we got anything for him suprises me.
