Commanders rookie Malcolm Kelly is currently in Birmingham, Alabama to have his knees evaluated.

He may need a scope. Kelly has been missing time with a hamstring injury, but is also experiencing stiffness in his knees. NFL Network's Mike Mayock reported before the draft that Kelly had been removed from some teams' boards due to knee woes, so this is a concern. He remains out indefinitely. Aug. 4 - 1:14 pm et

After trading up to take Rocky McIntosh and then taking Kelly in the 2nd after just drafting 2 pass catchers while still having giant holes on the D-line, I have come to the conclusion that having degenerative POS knees actually raises you on the Commanders draft board instead of drops you.

If I was a college senior, I'd totally tell the Commanders in my interview that I might need total knee replacement in the next year. I'd be their first round pick for sure.

It's such a shame. Kelly far and away had the best chance and being one of the best receivers in the NFL out of this years draft, but his knee issues aren't going to let that happen.

They might wanna look at Terry Glenn. He has bad knees too.

Wish the kid well, but I guess those pre-draft reports might have been right afterall.

No shocker. Bad knees and slow where the knock on him coming out. And the other wr they drafted was a one year wonder, which always scares me.

Maybe they can get Brandon Lloyd back.

I thought I read somewhere that Kelly wasn't on our board at all due to two bad knees.

Could be wrong though.

The slow 40 times where due to his bad knees. While he isn't a burner, he had pretty good speed before the severe knee issues started.

I think someone signed him.

The Bears did for one year $645,000.

The Bears got a much better deal than the Commanders who traded a 3rd and 4th round pick and renegotiated his contract giving him $10 million in signing bonuses.
