Comp picks announced

Had the Cowboys not gotten comp picks last year they probably wouldn't have Dak Prescott.

So sometimes they can backfire.

0 comp picks this was expected as far back as 2 year ago so not surprising. Just the way the contracts worked out this year.

It is interesting to see the number of 3rd comp picks this year and like others I do not recall that many in previous drafts.

The entire NFL East goes comp pick-less.
Not true. According to a CBS sports article, the Eagles get the Browns pick 139 on the trade for Wentz. It was originally the Browns 5th rd pick unless they received compensatory picks which they did and moved up to 4th rd.

Jerry should trade Romo for one of KC or Denver's 3rd rounders and call it a day.

Yeah but they weren't awarded any of their own. Which was my point. That 4th or 5th was already obtained.

If Cleveland makes all those picks they will have drafted 27 players in two years.

It'd be really hard not to improve your team with that many draft picks. You're talking almost 4 years worth of picks.

They will find a way to mess that up. It's Cleveland.

So our 4th round pick drops from 123rd overall to 133rd.

That stings.

Sadly you're probably right.
Their draft last year didn't impress me all that much. Nobody really stood out to the point you go "that's one to watch".

We'll see how this Money Ball nonsense translates, but there is no reason to go all stupid in the draft.

Hey, that's the same ten pick drop the Giants got for cheating.

Prediction - This is going to be a very unpopular draft class. Not initially. Most will homer any draft class over the summer but once the games are played people will sour on it after having such a historic group of rookies this past year. The comparison to 2016 will do them no favors.

No argument from me.

People have little pass rushing sugar plums dancing in their heads. I don't believe that is the approach they will take.

That class was special, mainly because of the stud generational talent first round pick. Picking at the tail end of the rounds is going to be difficult.

Like Alexander mentioned, I wonder if the league will tweak the formula for comp picks. The results have really shifted over the years. I don't know if that's a good or bad thing. Sucks to see 11 3rd round comps awarded in a year where you get none though.
