The offense looks weaker(no Fred rookie LG No true X or Y and a mediocre Z) the defense looks potentially stronger but will it be enough to cover up the discrepancies on offense. I’d feel better if the ability to lean on the coaching but with the offensive staff in place it’s all about do your job and beat the man in front of you even when the ability isn’t there to do that rather than to find ways to play strengths against weaknesss cough cough scheming players in positions to be successful

what was our record last year before zeke suspension.
compared to that team, the offense should score at least as much while the defense will allow less points.
furthermore, the defense has a chance to be top 5 or better if gregory plays like he has and irving comes back the same.

we have the same z should we choose to use williams.
if he is replaced, then that means we have someone better.

i am not so sure dez was such a good x any more in relation to dak's strengths.
hurns gets better average separation, ~double.
gallup will have learning pains but also is a good route runner.

hate to say it, but i think witten of last year is replaceable with what we have.

i think the threat of austin is going to open things up for zeke, which will in turn open things up for the passing game

Think top 5 is really reaching for the defense. I'm just hoping for top 12-10.

it is not the perfect team, but i think 12 wins is reasonable considering our record before zeke suspension.
furthermore, this team will improve over the season as inexperienced wrs and tes improve
big keys are irving, williams and tfred to how far they will go.

Love the optimism and I really do. The numbers as far as Witt are concerned may go up but he was a reliable outlet that was always where he needed to be. Dez drew attention whether through double coverage or coverage rolling to his side(I’m not a stats gal so don’t kill me on how often). Hurns is JAG, Twill JAG TEs JAfewGuys and Bees is a monster underneath but look for teams to bracket him and go man across the board and finally Austin hasn’t done much so how is it that the brains trust here will find a way to use him in a creative way. Trust me I hope I am completely wrong

hurns gets double the average separation as dez. dez has lost a lot of his ability to grab the ball.

twill is the same guy so no change except we could replace him if someone is better.
beas is beas.

austin creates a different kind of pressure with his speed and returner ability. that somewhat frees up zeke, who will make the passing game better.

witten goes where he is supposed to but his range was limited. rico is a much stronger receiver than witten. as he gets more experience, he will get better in route running and build chemistry with dak.

furthermore, dak throws the ball to where the receiver is (or clearly running towards). because he is not trying to throw the receiver open, inexact route running will be a smaller issue than a qb that anticipates more.

I’m going to go out on a limb here and predict we will get a bunch of “but the offense caused them to get gassed” excuses this year.

may be. but we essentially have a new dc.
i am quite curious to see whether he will terminate the cancer that is the marinelli prevent defense.

dl pressure can transform defenses.
we have the pieces in gregory, dlaw and irving.
if irving comes back in shape, watch out

I think it's very doubtful Irving contributes anything this year. And if Marinelli doesn't hand over the CB alignment to Richard, we'll be in the same boat as ever. 3rd and 7 is a pitch and catch with 10 yard cushions. No pass rush can fix that.

I really hope they play aggressive when it matters at crunch time. But Garrett and Rod seem allergic to anything outside the ultra conservative box.
