Complete Team Loss

The rams super bowl team didn't have talent?

I guess you must have never watched the rams that year because this statement makes zero sense.

and if you think that rams team was not talented you must thing this current cowboys team is a dumpster fire of talent.

The Rams did not have KC type talent.

The Rams had less talent on their OL than the Cowboys but the Rams scheme made them awesome even with CJ Anderson at RB.

The fact that their success was heavily due to scheme could easily be seen in the Super Bowl vs Belichick.

Beichick made adjustments to his defense specifically for the Rams and their precision run blocking scheme was not prepared for a match-up against the master coach.

Their players didn't suddenly fall off the map.

I don't think they just threw away the game, they had multiple opportunities in the fourth quarter to at least tie the game. We have no idea why the offense ran more vanilla type of plays, it's a fair point to make.
Game plan wise....is what I meant

If McCarthy, who is an offensive coach, came in here to allow another offense to be run, I see no point in having hired him.

Every day I'm realizing more and more that the culture is cancer ridden in Dallas, and it's not going to go away with coaching and/or scheme changes.

MM had to keep Kellen calling plays because MM will not be able to implement his style of football because he has to pamper The Dak because The Dak is not smart enough to run his type of game. Maybe, hopefully MM will find a QB that he can teach to run his style of football. As of now, new coach, same OC, just to appease The Dak. He must not be sure that The Dak will be able to learn his style...hell The Dak can barely run this system.

Most fans want to find a specific issue to blame but it was a 3 point loss in a game with a missed Field Goal and a failed 4th down play.

If everyone was just 5% better they would have won.

When he has a healthy OL the Rams HC McVay might run the best scheme in football.

KC won the SB based on wow players and solid schemes.

Rams made it to an SB with far less talent because of their scheme.

They integrate their run and pass offense together as well as any scheme I've seen (The 49ers are their rival for best run/pass scheme).

Their running game keeps the defense moving sideways making it impossible for DTs to just anchor as an unmovable object. Back in the day before the prevalence of the zone running scheme big DTs could just "squat" vs the run. Anybody remember DT Gilbert Brown? He made Nate Newton look like a skinny boy.

Poe would be good against power run blocking but the Rams kept him moving sideways. If Poe just anchors (sit down as many coaches like to say) then he would block off other defenders from getting to their spot.

DC Nolan had a good game plan using big fronts with Woods Poe and Hill often together and often using Aldon Smith like a 4-3 LB. It was almost good enough. They need time together and no more injuries.
You seem to be praising the defense in what you call a complete team loss.

The offense was too conservative, they had some bad penalties on good plays, and a couple of drops in key moments of the game.

And the missed field goal is kind of moot, because the Rams missed one also.

If our defense holds an opponent to 20 points and we still lose, it's safe to say the offense sputtered in that game. So the offense and coaching cost us that game.

Some, including myself, are still waiting to see Pollard and/or Cooper being featured in the slot. Because, not creating or taking advantage of mismatches, has been one of our failures for too many years now.

But, the defense played well enough to win, IMO.

Offensively speaking, either zero changes were made or they found the first game to be a throwaway.

Either way, not acceptable.

The offense was hurting badly with the injuries they sustained. They'll be obliged to recover as best they can but it'll take time.

all I know is Jared Goff had more time in the pocket than hard candy at a retirement home.

To be fair, Cowboys are running a complete, new defensive scheme with several new starters across the board. Add in they lost their starting MLB early in the game. It's going to take some time for this unit to gel.

Except that losing our MLB probably helped, putting in Thomas for LVE. Thomas played well. LVE and Jaylon didn't. Stark difference between Thomas and the LVE and Jaylon.

I’m totally putting this on coaching. Here we go all over again. Didn’t Lake McCarthy in the first place

That's debatable, defense still did struggle with Thomas in the first half and early on in the 3rd qtr.

1. True, and I remain a Nolan fan. I have confidence in him getting this right. I dont think he has the horses, but I think he will steer the ship in the right direction.
Hmm, I tend to think a horse-drawn ship is ill-conceived from the get-go.

I understand. Nobody knows why all the motion occurred early on last year and totally disappeared. Now Garrett is no longer here, it falls directly on Moore's shoulders. Playing with an undrafted fa at Tackle, a rookie WR and a backup TE could of affected the way he called the game. In my opinion, this team struggles when they chase the scoreboard and play total different when ahead, it's extremely important to start fast. The defense just didn't allow them to do that last week.
