If it's rebooting without a BSOD, that usually means its a hardware reboot. From my experience, that means it's something physical with the computer like a bad video card, bad memory (may just be one spot that when reached freaks out the OS) or failing PSU. My experience with CPUs overheating is they lock up rather than reboot.

Back when I built my own towers, when I could not figure out the problem, I would replace one part at a time to see if I could either find the problem or eliminate the obvious, however that can get expensive if you don't have spare parts lying around.

The cheapest solution is to reinstall the OS from scratch and see if that helps. It's possible there is a driver, library, etc. conflict somewhere though those usually result in BSODs. That said, eliminating the OS and software would be the cheapest first step, though admittedly more time consuming and involved.

Did that 2 nights ago, unplugged/reseated everything from power cables, gpu cables, memory and even all the sata cables. Even replaced the cord from PSU to the wall .

Sounds like it's the power supply that's causing reboots. Too much pull on 12v rail under load, voltage dips, computer protects itself. There's software (HWMonitor, HWinfo, AIDA64, etc) that can log this, but it can be inaccurate depending on chipset.

Only spend money on things you can return if you don't need them unless you were considering upgrades anyway

If there's a local PC shop, they should have test parts for everything that would help you eliminate potential parts if not actually identify the problem part.

Just ran Core Temps and at idle they were around 29-31c at idle and when I reved the game up they jumped around the 42-44c mark. Also ran the Intel Processor Diagnostic Test which it passed with flying colors. I believe this comes down to me beta testing a game that needs optimization as well as a failing PSU.

Checked already in game and was at around 3.5 GBs used out of 16 GB.

Took the PSU to a local computer earlier and they tested the PSU and it was fine, but I was still skeptical because the test doesn't put a load on the PSU.
Decided to dl OCCT http://www.ocbase.com/index.php/software and run the power supply stress test, ran it 3 times and each time the pc ended up rebooting.

Couple of things.

• Checking the temps, are you using a windows application to track them? (possibly on a second monitor while gaming) Your CPU / GPU could be overheating, though many Intel CPUs will downclock themselves if they start getting really hot. Not sure about GPUs.
• Do you smell any burning from the PSU?
• Did this just start out of the blue or did you upgrade / change something? What is your PSU's power output vs what you have in your PC? You very well could be drawing more power than the PSU can handle. (or your PSU is starting to fail)
• Does this happen only on the most intense games, but not other less intense graphics games?
• When it happens what is your CPU and GPU resource usage? If they are both maxing out, you could be overpowering your PSU.

These types of outright reboots and most likely power or specific hardware (memory) related. Other errors will just cause Windows to error on screen.

You can always buy a PSU from Newegg and test it. If it don't fix it, you can return it.

I bet it's an electrolytic capacitor drying up. (they are notorious for doing this and power supplies require them!) If you have an ESR meter, you can test for this and replace it for chump change!

Quick update, replaced the PSU with a EVGA 750watt Gold and so far the rebooting problem seems to be fixed.
