We aren't being harsh or abusive. We are just having fun.

btw, sounds like you *might* have a virus. Porn sites will give them to you.

:eek:hno: seriously?

I just checked a computer I have with Vista Home Basic and you should be able to change it to tiled. Either you have a corrupted profile or like NYC said it might be a virus.

ok - some questions:

is this a home computer or on a business network? these are profile settings that usually get set by:

1. administrators
2. virus's that don't want to give you control to kill them.

right click the toolbar - can you bring up the task manager? if not, possibly a virus. otherwise, hit the http://support.microsoft.com site and query on this error and you'll find causes for it.

it is a home computer. i have no idea why it is set up the way it is.

btw, as of two days ago, my adobe flash player stopped working and it wont let me reinstall it. I even ran an uninstall. Of course, give me a few days, and I am sure I will accidentally correct the flash player problem.

I am thinking maybe I should go buy Norton Antivirus and run it in my comp. I am using basic AVG right now. perhaps Norton 2009 might be able to clean up any viral issue my computer may have that AVG is unable to detect.

IMO, i have a virus. i even asked someone from the Geek Squad and he said it was most likely a virus.

I am thinking that I may have to redo my system and start all over. That sucks if it comes down to that.

I did buy Kaspersky Anti Virus, but it wont let me install it. It keeps telling me that I have to remove AVG 8 first, but i already uninstalled it.

I swear this is all so frustrating.

btw...a friend of mine helped me get my new anti-virus installed.

now i just need to figure out how to get my adobe flash player to work

The question is, did the new av remove the virus. If so, can you fix your permissions.

Personally, I would reinstall. Your system could be owned by a botnet or worse it could be collecting your personal data. Like online banking login information.

i'll have to +1 this. if you got a virus that digs into the system no AV will likely be able to pull it off for awhile. many will simply put hooks in the registry that will pull itself down.

backup what you value, reformat and reinstall.

i dont have much on my computer that i value...just some pics of my niece when she was very little. already sent those to my email.

i think i will probably reformat this weekend. maybe friday while i am watching monk and psych.
