Conditioning

Not saying it’s a great scheme but that is rods scheme
The idea is to keep the guys fresh
There are lots of teams who rotate their Dline though we do I would guess more than most

Jimmy rotated his DL in the 90's as well.

Oh wow, another hate Zeke thread.

The entire team is at fault, especially the coaches. But we have to have the daily hate one player thread.

Hardly a hate Zeke thread. I would say the point is more that this team is not getting the best out of him if he isn't in good enough shape to carry the ball on more than 3 runs in a row without needing to be yanked.

What is up with the conditioning with players on this team?

I have never seen a star running back pull himself out of a game as much as Zeke does. Last week, down by 7, Zeke runs the ball to the NE 12 yard and promptly signals Pollard to come into the game as he trots off.

Tank and other defensive linemen always seem to be rotating out of the field inside their own 30-yard line. Cooper runs a few routes than is off the field.

I think it shows up late in games and is part of the problem with this team not being mentally tough.

i think Zeke is only starting to get into game shape now having missed TC. Also he's having to take a pounding to get his yards due to no holes so I don't blame him for
taking a breather after 3-4 tough grinders.

That said, if our O line would open holes like the opposition does for their RB's Pollard has the quicks to go the distance in a short time...

I always assumed they were trying to give Zeke fresh for the rest of the season. And Maranelli likes rotational lines. That ain’t conditioning this is intentional.

Why do they always seem to be rotating out in the red zone then? Especially late in games.

He was supposed to have been getting into shape in Cabo. That's what he claimed.

And he basically ruined Julius Jones because of that.
Sometimes the coach is not always right just because he has some skins on the wall.
.....and he chastised Barber for not doing as such. Told him he'd only last three years if he kept it up. Where's Barber now.....? Nut house.

Julius had a cracked shoulder blade.....Parcells wouldn't let him tap out.

And that is why, Zeke will remain a scrub jag his remaining time in the NFL...NOT one of them plays with conviction or heart...and THAT is on the HC period.
Good Lord.......you ball tough guy?

On the HC? Prove it.......

i've been saying this for a while. We constantly have our stars sitting on the bench when we need them most it seem. Especially zeke. I still can't believe he signaled himself to come out when we were so close to the redzone. Thats not what a 90 mil running back does. I believe it was after a 7-10 yard run.
Whats nuts is , he does the feed me thing on top of it!

I hear ya Doomy. But ask yourself this. How can a team be mentally tough, with a coach that claps and smacks them on the butt when underperforming? Would you be mentally tough with that attitude?! o_O

That is by design of the coaching staff.

It started with Marinelli's DL rotation. Marinelli "guarantees" players that if the go "110%" that he will keep them rested (i.e. He does not want the players to conserve energy while on the field).

They started doing that with Zeke a year or two ago.

It is actually one of the better things this coaching staff has done.

yup....noticed that too. Our pass rush is sucking wind in the 4th quarter. I seriously doubt they run sprints @ the end of practice...and if they do...it's probably more of a jog. O-line looks gassed too...

Yep, watching Zeke take himself out of games reminds me of how Parcells used to run his backs like 10 times in a row in preseason games to show them the kind of shape they had to be in. And he said there wouldn't be any tapping your hat to come out around here, either.
Bring back that mentality, because it is in the end a mentality. Right now as it stands anytime you want to come out of a game for any reason it's acceptable. Then that standard becomes the mentality. A weak mentality at best. We need warriors on this team not soft players who read the headlines about themselves being the best this or that. Doing commercials both local and nationally should not be a priority during the season. And coming to work on time with sleep and rest with one purpose and that is to beat this weeks opponent by film studying and practicing in any weather conditions deemed appropriate for said opponent. Without being a malcontent. Players on the Cowboys are coddled and appear to be self entitled. Jerry stars as the ringmaster of this whole culture and it starts and stops their.
