Conference realignment

I know this is not the year to mention it or even in the near future. But what happens if the NFL decides to expand the number of teams. Or even another team moves across the country in the NFC.

I love our rivals and our matches against the Eagles, "Washington", Giants, but how would you feel in swapping conferences with the the Panthers to put us in the South and them in the East. It would create a new dynamic and change up rivals for a while.

It is something to think about, however, I don't think the Cowboys vs. Saints/Falcons/Bucs have the same rivalry as the classics. It would definitely help with travel and location based rivalries. Personally I would love a 4 team add of foreign or new markets, and moving to a 3 divisions per league division setting. Works well with the new playoff format.

I am bored, just noticed an article on this recently and it had me thinking.

If we are not talking Conferences, then wouldn't a Dallas, Arizona, Houston, Denver option be more geographically matched division. With maybe a new team or New Orleans/Tennessee a option for 5 total teams.

A decade ago I would have never of entertained this, but the classic rivalries are just not the same. Is Cowboys/Commanders even a thing anymore? It used to be those were the two games I looked for as soon as the schedule was released, now its just another week. The giants were fun during the manning/romo years, but that rivaly has died down. Now it seems to be the eagles games are the big rivalries as those are the only two teams any good in the division.

I guess my point is it really doesn't matter in today's NFL and today's world. No one seems to care about the history. Players change teams with so much frequency. Rivalries today are based on recent history. You could easily mix up the divisions and gain the same hype over new rivalries.

im not against this, but why do we have the same conversation about the same time of year each year. but ill play.... i'd do for NFC MidWest: Dallas, KC, Houston & New Orleans.

You must not be aware of the battles fought already by the Cowboys ownership over the years to remain in the NFC East all this time with Washington, NYG, and Philthy. They aren't going to give that up just to appease your OCD.

I kind of think the same way, the rivalries are not what they used to be.
Even 5 years ago I would say no. But now, I would ot be opened to a change.
However as some suggested Dallas and Houston in the same division would not be good.
Just lie the Jets and Giants in the same divisionwpuls not be good.

keep the AFC and NFC teams the same. And rearrange accordingly.

Possibly Dallas, NO, Atlanta, TB
Chicago, GB Minnesota, Detroit can stay the same, as the west in SF, Arizona, LA, Seattle. And as mention Carolina to the East with Washington, NY, Philly

I know I said two teams in same state like Dallas. And Houston not good, but yet you jave 2 in each of AFC north and south. It they are further apart than Dallas and Houston and in Ohio it had been that way for years. And keeps the AFC and. fc teams the same.
