Question: Has the fanbase's confidence for the 2013 season dropped?

It sure seems like the board's confidence has dipped tremendously since the release of the final roster and the tweaks since (offensive line, churning of bottom of roster). News of Ratliff out, Spencer questionable and Mo dinged up has really taken the momentum of the off season.

I know the team lacks an identity at present- lots of uncertainty... but I feel like one is right around the corner and I think the Giants are walking into a hornets nest on Sunday night. I think the entire NFL will be on notice that this isn't the same bumbling Cowboys who make things interesting but never get the job done.

Notable differences:

I really liked the look of redzone defense in the preseason. Very stout looking and physical in close quarters.

I loved the tempo of 1st team offense, and I think Romo's control of the game from LOS will pay huge dividends this season by hiding minimizing the OL's deficiencies.

Dez Bryant/Miles Austin- when you are clearly throwing to one person on one entire drive despite coverage and completing passes for TD's- that says alot. They did that basically twice vs the Bengals 1st unit D. I know- they're not gameplanning to stop either: but that is still impressive.

Dunbar is a legit threat as a receiver and runner on 3rd Downs.

The D is much healthier and makedly more talented than what we were competitive with down the stretch last season!

We were a drive away from the division title last season with a defense that was loaded with street free agents- we have to be better there almost by definition.

Keep your chins up, and be excited- football is back and we're going to make some noise this season- I really believe that.

I have to wait until I see the oline, Claiborne, will Allen play first. Those are the only concerns. And injury. Week one will answer a lot of questions about those three.

No way ....i'm filled with lots of optimism...especially with our Defense, WR...the rest will depend on the Oline but I feel its a lot better then previous years.

Spencer hurt. DL lacks depth. OL looks marginally better. Claiborne hurt and zero depth at that position.

Another poorly constructed roster by this front office, but I am not surprised in the least.

I'll let you know after the Giants game...

OK, I'm kidding. Boys 34 GMen 16 - I'm feeling like we'll be back in the playoffs this year.

I get those concerns. It seems like TC yields more questions than optimism for most football teams. I'm not so sure the roster is poorly constructed however. I do think we should add a G and DT asap, but their impact for week one will be minimal.

In truth I don't think those moves will make a difference Sunday night. I think we horsewhip the Giants in the first game regardless.

My only concern has been with the injured, Mo and Spenc, and Leary. Could care less about Rosario, Liss, and not having more then 4 cb's.

Hard to say until the games start. A lot of people thought the same thing last year. And really thought that after we played a decent game and beat the giants in the opener last year.

Confidence dipped somewhat when our depth played against the Texans in the last preseason game. Everybody said ***?

My confidence has stayed the same. Still looks like a 8-8 to 10-6 team depending on injuries. Never been confident about our interior lines, so I'm still not confident. I think Claiborne will be fine.

Just the sheer number of street free agents on this team reminds me way too much of the Campo years. Honestly, I'm not sure the depth on this team is even as good as 2012.

That's the thing, Claiborne needs to be more than fine. If he's still on a (next year he'll be what we thought) path, we aren't going anywhere. We need a secondary standout since our dline isn't great. You guys expect so little of mo it seems.

If we stay healthy, I think we will be pretty good. If we lose players at key spots, it could be a long season. Pretty much what any team could say at this point.

Not one single bit did my confidence drop. Why would it? If anything I feel much better about the oline because Doug Free has had a very good TC and I think he is a smart football player and he may actually be a very servicable OG. Also we have a lot of weapons on offense and probably one of the more dangerous offenses in the NFL because of the Skill positions. Now on defense we have a lot of great LB depth and 2 very good LBs. on the Dline you have Spencer Ware and hatch on the line. I've got a good feeling about it.

If Rat and Spencer were 100% from the start of camp, I'd be cautiously optimistic regardless of the Oline deficits. With their absence, the Dline will struggle, especially against the run, games will get out of hand early, so Romo will be running for his life or taking chances to stay in the game. So, from my couch, the season looks uninspiring.

I'm still cautiously optimistic....very cautiously.
I still have issues with both lines and feel that puts a cap on our potential unless they really make strides with the same personnel .

There are plenty of positives in other areas though, so we'll see.

Not sure how much confidence has dipped as much as the realists/negative posters have ended their off season hibernation.
