You guys massively exaggerate Claiborne's limitations. He's had tendonitis and shoulder problems that he hasn't aggressively played through, and he's had understandable problems pressing strong WRs since he's physically needed to add significant muscle. He's been torched in a game or two by a matchup problem. Beyond that, though, he's played well in some fairly significant stretches and/or been victimized by our usual S's making mistakes and had fans who don't know better then blame him because he happens to be closest in the shot on TV when a TD is given up. He's a guy you can rely on to get NFL caliber snaps, and he's still got a chance to earn a second contract in Dallas. He hasn't been anywhere near the All Pro prospect we all hoped we'd get, but neither is he anywhere near an all-time bust.

Viewing in retrospect only. Hindsight is 20/20 right? :)

You said we failed in our evaluation of Mo. I said everyone thought he was the best defensive player in the draft. That is factual information not viewing in retrospect or my personal opinion.

Ok. You're right. I give up. Take all my money. Just don't take my Cowboys paraphernalia.

Sometimes it's not the scouts who are wrong about a player. Sometimes it's the coaches. Sometimes it's just injuries or distraction or confidence factors that didn't exist before the player got into the league. There are a lot of variables at play. The same goes for a guy who is a better pro player than he ever was in college. It's not just good scouting that makes those success stories happen.

I guess "well. he's there" is better than "well, he's all we got."

The "sorry" Seahwaks? That is our arrogance or East Coast bias. Not sure if you follow Shango....who is a passionate Cowboy fan. But he had the infamous rant AFTER the game about how he WARNED Cowboy Nation about how the Seahawks get down. I was unaware and was not paying attention to what the Seahawks were building...and they are starting to see the fruits of their labor. It reminds me of the early 90s Cowboys...and how MANY were caught off guard..because they were not paying attention to what Jimmy was building.

Again....solid organizations with an idenity and consistent winning philosophy can recover from missing with the #6 overall pick. Unfortunatley...because we are an organization made up of various scattered parts...where the GM once hired the offensive coordinator...THEN hired the head coach....we don't recover well from this big of a miss. Look at the Seahawks...they have given up a #1 to New England for Deion Branch...they gave up a #1 (and I think other picks) for Sidney Rice.....and they gave up a #1 and multiple other picks for Percy Harvin. Harvin barley played for them last year...did that stop them from winning the Super Bowl? Not sure Sidney Rice EVER did antyhing for them. And Deion Branch was a marginal contributor for them. Yet that program still grew and is now thriving. While we are licking our wounds for the Roy Williamns trade, the miss on Felix Jones....and what now looks like the miss on Claiborne. You have to go back to what I posted earlier to understand my frustration. ALL organizations miss at times...the good ones can recover...unfortunatley...that is not who we are!

i meant to add that i do like the way the seahawks draft... them, the panthers, and the 49ers have drafted more d lineman than any other team the last 3 years., but i dont blame him for claiborne. He was projected by everyone as not only the best in the draft but also the best in years.
