Seems plausible to me.

Suicides normally shoot themselves in the guts? I thought the whole point was to make it as quick and painless as possible.

I can sure see why his would raise a few eyebrows.

hm...maybe if we knew where he we was shot was on his stomach? maybe he shot himself in the head, and as he was falling down, he triggered the the gun again as a reaction/twitch and it went into his guts.

That's sure as hell easier to believe than he, impulsively, shot himself in the stomach and decided the head was a better idea.

Never have heard of too many suicide attempts by shooting yourself in the gut, Hos... that doesn't smell quite right to me...

Why?

Since he was committing suicide, it is likely the 1st shot did not kill him.

If you're setting out to kill yourself with a gun, you don't generally shoot yourself in the BELLY... you put the gun in your mouth, or up to your temple, or in back of your head...

So there is where the 2nd shot comes in. Nothing at all fishy about that.

I have to think it might be kinda hard to pull the trigger a second time if you've just been shot in the gut...

Suicides can often be a bizarre scene because the person committing suicide is not of sound mind (obviously). My uncle is a detective in NYC and he tells of quite a few crazy suicide scenes.

Jacobs was unstable and just one of many former steroid users/abusers that winds up committing suicide. Further throwing in the face that steroids are not bad for somebody.

So he shot himself in the gut before shooting himself in the head? That sounds like BS to me.

Let me blast you in the gut. You'd be BEGGING me to end it.

Don't mean to sound like a psyco-path but it's true.

He thought it would be easier with a belly wound. He thought wrong. Takes a lot of nads to blast yourself in the head especially if you really didn't want to die. JMO. Of course.

just to play devils advocate...he shot him self in the head, then as his hand w/ gun was falling when it hits the ground it goes off n shoots him in the bellay?

naw still sounds like a hit, first shot was to show him they weren't playing then after pleading and crying they finally do away with the dirt....

Still very suspicious.

I was going to stay of this one and let the imaginations go wild but --I just have my throw in my two cents worth--

1. More then one shot in a suicide is not common but does happen. When it does, alot of time the first shot is in the body. Its harder in real life to hit some thing quickly fatal then on TV ie...I know of a case in vermont where a woman shot herself 5 times.

2. The reconstruction takes in account all the physical evidence such as
Bloodspatter -scene conditions -GSR (which is not commonly used in suicides
because the persons(victims) hand is likely to test postive.

3. It is possible to sequence shots and deterime which come first. And last
it is very difficult to stage a scene and make it look like something its not

But feel free to speculate:)

This reminds me of that protitute chick that had threathened to spill the beans on all the political clients she had in D.C., she made made it clear to people that if anything happens to her, it wasn't suicide but sure enough, about 3-4 weeks ago she ends up dead "from suicide", and no one questioned it.

Barely even made the news, and was gone by the next day. Sure as hell seemed suspicious to me, but what do I know, I'm just a citizen.

Does make you wonder. Whenever someone like this supposedly offs themselves, you almost want a second independent investigation. The hooker "suicide" particularly would make me wonder.

If there is gunpowder residue on his hands it would tell them he pulled the trigger.

Or are you suggesting the gun was placed in his hand for the last shot? They could tell if there had been a struggle and if that shot was post mortem. Someone would have to wait until he was literally on his last breath to do that to him and it not be called into question.

You can kill someone then place the gun in their hands and have them fire it.

This guy made serious enemies but he wanted fame and was talking book deals and interview circuits. His actions, emails, radio interviews were just not consistent with a guy considering suicide. It is certainly not impossible but the guy made powerful enemies including the police departments in the area.

And a gunshot to the gut is as painful as it gets. Why would anyone do that then shoot themselves in the head. I have never heard of that happening even once.

It would make much more sense if the gut shot was accidental or came about in a struggle with the g/f who was obviously a strong girl herself.

The second I read his interview that stated 5 local police departments had officers buying from him I suspected he was in grave danger. You do not do dirt with cops then decide to snitch on them period.

1) Multiple gunshots in a suicide is very rare and often an issue of simple poor aim. I have NEVER heard of a self-inflicted gut shot that turned into a head shot. We are literally talking about the rarest of rarities.

2) Scenes are easy enough to stage. I am married to a police officer. An 8th grade educated criminal may fail to fool an investigator but cops with 100s of investigations often can. Its not like an investigator suspecting possible police foul play would even offer up the scenario without serious an hardcore proof.

3) It all comes down to motivation and who wants it more. An investigator is doing his/her job not risking their lives and calling out possible police foul play would be stupid and dangerous.

BTW, you did hear about the bad investigations out of the panhandle right? About 10 years worth of falsified and fake autopsy reports by one medical examiner.

I know. That's why I pointed out "post mortem" (which means after life has ceased) wounds. They can tell a difference.
