He had an excellent game last night. Had a forced fumble on Tomlinson in the redzone, a sack, two tackles for loss and caused the first sack that Seymour got.

Kevin Burnett didnt look so good though, saw him struggle vs the run and got completely lost in coverage a couple of times.

Bills and Raiders totally outplayed the Pats and Chargers last night.

Oh here we go......

Let me start, "Ellis got one more sack then the whole Cowboys team"

I always liked Ellis and was pleased with the effort and performance he gave while in Dallas. I could have done without his whining and am glad that he is gone because I think it was having a negative effect in the locker-room.

That said, I wish him well in his time with the Raiders and am glad to see that he had a good game last night.

The Raiders' defense might be pretty good this year folks.

For some reason, this is a pretty common opinion anytime a near-upset occurs.

New England had 165 more yards and 11 more 1st downs than Buffalo. The turnover differential was even. The Pats weren't outplayed in the least.

Oakland, on the other hand, did outgain San Diego by 49 yards. But they lost the turnover battle, and their QB was (is) awful.

I have no hard feeling towards Ellis. I'm glad he had a good game. Dallas did what they felt they needed to do and Ellis did what he needed to do, no hard feeling for me.

ellis is a monster. great pick up by the raiders.
Monster.

Greg Ellis is still a very good player who's solid against the run and plays the pass fairly well, but a monster..?

Q: If Ellis is a 'monster', does that make DeMarcus Ware the Cloverfield monster?

Just looking for some tangible sense here.

I was very happy for Greg last night. I was proud of him while he was a Cowboy and I'm proud he did very well last night. I hope he has a really great year for the Raiders but of course has a piss poor game when they come here on Thanksgiving. :)

I'll echo that sentiment. He's a good, not great player who played consistently while a Cowboy. It was his time to go. No hard feelings.

it would be good to see him get a playoff run as a Raider. They can be a good team this season.

I expect him to have more success in his natural position again (4-3 End) cause he was a liability in space playing 3-4 OLB, good for him. He also looked a little leaner and meaner out there. I'm sure we'll here his name more this season, Oakland has a pretty decent defense.

You can put on the Pats blinders if you like, but they got their butts kicked. They gained some more yards, but it was mostly dink and dunk passes. They had no run game and their defense looked slow and not very physical. They won the game for 2 reasons, 1) idiot, bust CB fumbling a kick return and 2) they went to the rpevent defense too soon

I tend to agree with you about being hyperbole but if Ellis is not a monster then what is Spencer, garbage? Which is just to say the comparison works both ways. Ware is the best defensive player in football but he looked pretty average week 1. I hope that was not because the guys opposite him were pretty much MIA. All this talk of how good Spencer is versus the run is pure drivel. He runs himself out of plays constantly. That was discussed by Bryan Broadus on ESPN 103.3

Seriously, Greg is what he is, a solid starting DE/OLB and definitely he'd be our second best pass rusher if he had ever shut up the last 3 years.
