hard to believe this is the first playoff win at the Zone. haha
I'm just glad it's over, and now we can go back to being the Cowboys that everyone is used to. A team that has playoff victories.

I dont know if there was a BB type posting board when we won our last SB or not?

There were bulletin boards on AOL and Prodigy in the early and mid-1990s, as well as Usenet groups such as alt.sports.football.pro.dallas-cowboys. Some of us were posting on those way back then.

By the way, our last playoff win before this came on Dec. 28, 1996, against the Vikings. Just two days later came the false rape accusations against Erik Williams and Michael Irvin. We lost that next weekend to the Panthers and hadn't won a playoff game since then.

Scrolling through Google's (incomplete) archives from our last Super Bowl win and our last playoff win, you see the same type of posts that you see these days. People giving their analysis of the game, people wanting to fire the coach (after winning the Super Bowl, no less), people complaining about the media and especially ESPN (Chris Berman and Joe Theismann actually chose STEELERS as their "Prime Time Players" after Super Bowl XXX), fans from other teams trolling the group, etc. Not much has changed, really, except maybe the ability to post pictures and videos.

I could see Theismann having gone with O'Donnell has his Prime Time Player. I'm actually surprised Berman went with a Steeler. I'd have guessed he wormed some Bills or 49ers player into the mix.

I used to get the Dallas Cowboys Weekly delivered to my dorm room at UCONN and in 92 had a wall covered with each cover (and of course another wall for the cheerleaders).

I posted on BBS back in 1994-95. While there were not alot of people chatting there was still a primitive BBS before 96-97. I was posting and chatting with people then. I actually found my computer tutor on the board as well.

I started working for IBM in early 1995 and was part of a couple of online Cowboys BBSs right off the bat so I know something was around back then but it wasn't like it is today.

Man, those Dallas Cowboys Weekly were like gold to me back in the 90s. I would read that magazine like 4-5 times from cover to cover leading up to the game that weekend.

Once the "Internet Age" came about, I started posting on the old FortWorth Star Telegram. I then bounced around from a couple of boards during the lean years before joining here in 2005.

Man, I never imagined it was going to be 14 years before we won another playoff game. Been a long, long, long time for us diehard fans.

I just realized how long it truly has been since we've had any measurable success.

I became a fan in 1981. I waited for (what seemed like) forever to finally watch this team win a Super Bowl. I just now realized that I've waited longer just to see us just win a playoff game. Damn! No wonder I was floating on air Saturday night.

The Cowboys Weekly was a treasure trove of info in the 80s. They had great columnists. They went downhill for a few years, but the magazine has really improved of late with the new format and all. For a while I was subscribing out of nostagia, but now I really look forward to it coming in the mail.

Compuserve had an active group of Cowboy fans back in the mid-1990s. I remember the flame wars with 49er fans. There was one Commander fan who put out newsletters for each team. I remember reading Vela's great analysis of the Cowboys as well.

When things moved on, I posted a lot on the old Austin360.com Cowboys board. That was always a lot of fun. There are a few CZ members who are vets of that old board.

That is so true. This is my 32nd year as a Cowboys fan. During that span we have won 3 Super Bowls. The other 29 seasons ended in some kind of disappointment. Yet here we all are living and dying with the Cowboys. The bandwagon is a myth. Most of us have been rooting for Dallas for years. For some of us, this is the first time experiencing a playoff win. Imagine that.

I think this is my 47th as a Cowboy fan. Started very young......

5 Super Bowls along with the Ice Bowl to go with that.

So it's simple math fun with other fans.
32 teams and your lucky to see your team win 3 times in your lifetime.
So I'm 2 up and a lot of years to go.

Eagle fans on the one hand... have 0.:trophy: :trophy: :trophy: :lmao2: :lmao2: :lmao2:
