Great aint it lol. He went from the worst graded tackle per pff in 2020 to average at best. Hes not that good. Lael was better than him. They got rid of lael for personal reasons not because of his play.

Did not say, it was due to his play. Steele, was playing fine, until they reinserted Collins. Lael, was not the Lael of old.

There is a long list of Cowboys O-linemen who looked terrible in their early years but worked hard, gained experience, and improved every season.

Mark Tuinei

Nate Newton

Kevin Gogan

Doug Free

Blaine Nye

Offensive lineman are the players that improve the most as they gain experience. So long as they know how to be part of a team by working in unison, they can overcome deficiencies in talent.

Over the last two decades (start of the 21st century), offensive line play has suffered due to
1) more pass oriented offenses in college
2) reduced practices in number and duration at both the college and pro levels
3) difficulty in keeping a cohesive group - starters and backups - due to free agency

Our backups are just so bad? I would suspect that if leaves in FA next off season, he will get a contracts for 5-7mil per year. I guess other teams don't know anything about OL.
Yep
Fans just don’t get that every player is not a super star
MCGovern is a solid backup and there is a need for a guy like him in the league
They don’t see that there are many much worse players out there

You think Dallas was 5-12 instead of 12-5 with all these terrible players on the roster.
Agree. That is why letting Cooper, and Collins go made no since. Let them compete to keep a job. Win your in. If not, your out. That is the way football teams with real head football coaches do it.

Landry did not get rid of Danny White having Roger Staubach, Jimmy Johnson did not get rid of Chad Hennings having Casillas, Jones, Maryland, and Lett.

This was another Jerry Dumbo GM Jones off season of replacing what he did not need to replace. Its called competition at every position.
