Connor Williams

in my opinion the most important thing is for him to not lose his confidence.
he's gonna win some....he's gonna lose some.
just trust your technique.
I like how after a bad play...or series....he comes right back.
he'll get there.

There will be growing pains right. He's a rookie. *** do people expect, pro-bowler in year one. Craziness. And he didn't play poorly in game 1. Geno A can make a vet look bad

I thought he played well last week and tonight...but what the hell do I know...I clean toilets for a livin'.
I know Im more concerned about the depth behind our 1st 5...except Looney.
I thought Williams handled his business.

Yes. That is the expectation of some on this board. These are some of the same people who said Taco and Jaylon were wasted picks.

I remember when you guys thought Tyron Smith should have been moved back to RT early in his career

We can't take you guys seriously around here
I also remember Taco sucks, DLaw ducks, Jaylon is a bust, Travis is a horrible pick, Armstrong is a horrible pick, Dak is a horrible pick, Collins can't play RT, Dez will be signed and we will rue the day, Jones is a great FS, .....

People should just keep their analysis to themselves that thought these things...lol

Lol I'm a farm boy so I don't know any more than you do. Then again, I don't think many fans on here are coaches. IMO, it's time to a G, even old farm boys know how thin we are at G after Marcus Martin was lost

Your choosing to miss the big difference between Taco, Jaylon, and Connor Williams.

Taco and Jaylon were not starters as rookies.
Williams is.

Huge difference. Huge.

We all agree Connor Williams will be good someday. It’s today some are concerned about..

So it was OK to consider them wasted picks, because they weren’t rookie starters?

Collins should have been left at LG. Either a stopgap veteran RT should have been brought in for a year or two...or until it was addressed via the draft. The Cowboys simply cannot sustain an offense with an undersized, inexperienced rookie LG and now question marks surrounding the availability of Martin at RG. You don't screw with your interior line. It will have consequences for the both the running game and passing game. Williams will also make Tyron Smith's job harder...a man that Prescott desperately needs covering his butt on the blind side...and who needs to avoid the injury bug this year.

Conner Williams is actually really good on the move. He needs to develop strength, that much is obvious.

I trust farm boys...salt of the earth.
I think Williams was a farm boy,too.

anyhow....fat-bellies move the chains...Connor's a good'n.

He sucked IMHO at pass blocking. His man got around him waaaaaay to fast to get in Dak's face. His run blocking looked good but he got owned on pass blocking.

Connor has poor coaching in my opinion but I feel he will only get better due to his talent.

Give him time.

We’re you one of the posters who considered him a wasted pick?

Taco, nope. I wasn't crazy about the pick but I never considered him a waste. TBH, I wanted a TE with the first round pick two years ago. Great TE class. How good would OJ Howard look on this team today

Then I can see why you are upset about Taco playing well. :muttley:

Same overreaction from your post.

lol I wasn't upset about Taco's sack I was being a typical fickle fan on here... Taco sucks, he's a waste.... no wait he got a sack he s a beast

I hate saying this but Connor Williams gets beat on so many plays. Last week was bad and people just assumed it was jitters....then tonight he was beaten by his man on way too many plays in the passing and running game.

I think it’s becoming a concern.
We all know he looks small for a guard. I’m not sure if he is playing out of position or if maybe he just isn’t very good at this point and may be a liability this season.

We may have assumed since we hit on so many OL in recent years that we would hit on this one as well.

Thoughts?
I've been hard on him according to some. He looked worse this week than last week. The guy needs a full NFL offseason. He has to be better than he has been. Let's hope he does get better as the season goes on.

Yeah I asked if he was ready day one strength wise. I keep getting told conflicting reports.
