Damien Lewis
Scouts Inc., ESPN: 8th rated ILB, 199th player overall, 6th-7th round projection.
Wilson has an above-average blend of height, weight, length and top-end speed. His range against the run is the first thing that stands out on tape. He's an instinctive run defender with the quickness to beat backs to the edge when he makes a sound read, he's above average at slipping blocks on the move and his motor is almost always running at a high level. Wilson also gets good depth and covers enough ground to hold up in zone. The downside is he takes too long to get off blocks when teams run at him and he's far too inconsistent as a tackler at this point.

Frank Coyle, Draft Insiders Digest: 12th rated ILB, 258th player overall, 7th round projection.
He has the make up to be a good special teams defender and could merit a pick on those abilities alone. Also projects to the Will where his take on liability is minimized and his fine tackling in chase mode is productive. Underrated versatile LB with nice prodiuction and developing skills. Saavy prospect to surprise and play a few roles in a defense and quality special teams defender with decent speed and keen instincts to become a core defender. Good late addition to contribute.
-
Nolan Nawrocki: 15th rated ILB, Not in top 150, 7th round projection.
A more quick than fast, compact built Mike linebacker ideally suited for a fast flowing defense like Dallas, Tampa Bay or Carolina. Needs to learn what it means to be a pro to make it.
-
Dane Brugler, NFL Draft Scout: 17th rated LB, Not in top 100, 5th-6th round projection.
Wilson is active and directs traffic pre-snap, showing the diagnose skills to attack and finish, although his aggressive play style will get the best of him and lead to mistakes. He is well rounded with the physical temperament that fits what NFL teams are looking for at the position. Back up at the next level and late rounder.

Ryan Russell
Scouts Inc., ESPN: 17th rated DE, 197th player overall, 6th-7th round projection.
Russell is a team captain who has an excellent blend of height, weight, length and top-end speed for a base 4-3 left defensive. He's also capable of kicking inside to rush the passer and lining up at defensive end in a base one-gap 3-4 scheme. However, there is room for improvement when it comes to technique. He tends to play too high defending the run, and he takes too long to counter when he doesn't win with his first move rushing the passer. It's also worth noting that he is a bit of an underachiever and has shown an inconsistent work ethic in the past.
-
Frank Coyle, Draft Insiders Digest: 20th rated DE, 233rd player overall, 7th round projection.
Considered a good developmental prospect with upside, though his inconsistencies scream underachiever. Value for line rotation and quality serviceable backup with tools to develop. Probable late 3rd day pick with pro skill set. Shows many of the physical traits that clubs covet, but he doesn't do enough with them especially with just 5 sacks over the last two years. His marginal production won't interest most teams, but his potential might.
-
Nolan Nawrocki: 10th rated DE, 129th player overall, 4th-5th round projection.
A big strong power rusher with the physical talent to step into a starting job in the pros as a base end. Could also warrant interest as a developmental rush linebacker. Inconsistencies in effort and with mental toughness have affected his performance. Would be best in a simple scheme where he could be turned loose.

Dane Brugler, NFL Draft Scout: 20th rated DE, Not in top 100, 6th-7th round projection.
When scouting Purdue's past defensive line prospects like Kawaan Short, Ryan Kerrigan and Bruce Gaston, it was Russell who often grabbed the attention of scouts with his NFL size and promise. But he struggled to develop his talents the last few seasons, especially the last two years under the new coaching staff that implemented a 3-4 base scheme, which had Russell lining up all over the front seven in a hybrid role. He is well rounded but he also doesn't stand out in any area with the lackluster film to match. Although he looks the part, Russell is not the sum of his parts and lacks any type of wow factor. Projected late rounder and back up defensive end with a low NFL ceiling.

Mark Nzeocha
Scouts Inc., ESPN: 27th rated OLB, 339th player overall, UDFA projection.
Nzeocha is a German native and former rugby player who lacks ideal experience and instincts at this point. However, he is an above-average athlete who holds up well in space and shows quality range, which buys him time to contribute on special teams early in his career.
-
Frank Coyle, Draft Insiders Digest: 26th rated OLB, Not in top 300, UDFA projection.
While he has good athleticism and speed for a linebacker, his instincts are still rudimentary and he will need improvement in this regard is he is ever to see NFL playing time. All this is also assuming a full recovery from the knee injury. Athletic ability and character give him a high ceiling, but will require some patience from a good coaching staff before he can develop fully. Good FA addition with definite upside, but needs time to absorb sport.
-
Nolan Nawrocki: 17th rated OLB, Not in top 150, 7th round projection.
A fast flowing converted safety with the speed and cover skill to match up in the slot. Is still very new to the game and will require time to develop into a more complete, reactionary football player. However he has the talent to contribute readily on special teams and could become a niche cover player if assignments are kept simple. Intriguing developmental prospect with versatility to contribute in multiple areas.

Laurence Gibson
Scouts Inc., ESPN: 21st rated OT, 231st player overall, 7th round projection.
Gibson is a work in progress whose footwork, hand placement and pad level all need to get better if he is to play a substantial role in the NFL. On the other hand, there's no questioning his potential, as he has everything teams are looking for in a left tackle prospect, in terms of natural ability. He has a quick first step, changes directions well, has excellent arm length and has bulked up to 312 pounds.

Nolan Nawrocki: 15th rated OT, Not in top 150, 4th-5th round projection.
Developmental left tackle with very intriguing size, length and movement skill. Made considerable strides as a senior when he bulked up, but must hone his technique and continue to get stronger to handle NFL edge rushers. Would fit best in a zone based blocking scheme and has a lot of upside to be groomed.
-
Dane Brugler, NFL Draft Scout: 22nd rated OT, Not in top 100, UDFA projection.
Gibson saw playing time as a junior in 2013 and started six games at right tackle before moving to the left side in 2014, starting all 13 games there as a senior. He has adequate foot quickness and lower body coordination to shuffle and square on the edges, showing the range to get downfield in the run game. He's all over the place with his eyes and limb placement, welcoming rushers into his body and failing to properly achieve angles as a run blocker. His highlight reel is impressive, but unfortunately they came in sporadic spurts on tape and he needs to improve his fundamentals and functional power before he's ready for NFL snaps. Practice squad candidate with upside.

Geoff Swaim
Scouts Inc., ESPN: 32nd rated TE, Not in top 340, UDFA projection.
Swaim is a developmental prospect who has the frame, length, leaping ability and top-end speed to develop into a productive receiver, but he's a JUCO transfer who caught a total of 13 passes in his two seasons at Texas. He'll also have to fill out that frame to develop into an in-line blocker at the NFL level. The good news is he can contribute on special teams as he develops as a tight end.
