Wife and I considering a move to Houston so she can be closer to her brother and housing cost is much much cheaper than up here in northeast. Plus did I mention not fan of northeast winters any longer. My idea location would have been somewhere outside of Dallas but I have to make some concessions for my wife. Atleast it gets me into state of texas. I can work on convincing my wife and brother that Dallas area is better . Enough rambling about all that. My real question is: can I see Cowboy games on tv from Houston area?
If you need to be close to Houston, you may try the Beaumont, TX area. It is about 90 miles East of Houston on IH-10 and is still a majority Dallas Cowboy area and the games are televised. There are several nice smaller communities with good schools around Beaumont. On the other hand, if you need to be in Houston, just get Direct TV with the Sunday Ticket.
Cml. are you saying Beaumont/Port Arthur is outside the Houston viewing area? Hhmmm, if so, then so must be the Nederland/Port Neches area, eh? Isn't the Houston viewing area the only area in Texas that blocks Cowboys games? What news feed do yall get over there? Very interesting to someone who is thinking of moving out that way some day.
I live in Nederland. The only time a Cowboy game may not be televised is when they play an AFC team at home and CBS has the rights and the Texans are playing at the exact same time. It has happened once in the last several years. As for news feeds, we have our own local news. All in all it is a good place to live.
Thanks, CML. We have heard nothing but good about Neches/Nederland area. I have a cousin that has lived in both places for years and he loves it. But I had no idea yall weren't really connected to Houston viewing. It gets really hard to stomach all the car wreck freeway deaths and murder reports on the Houston news every day. I usually don't even watch the news because of it, unless there is some weather I need to pay attention to. Although, we do love the Houston July 4th Celebration on TV every year. That is fun to watch, and would probably miss it. Heck, where we live, we don't even really have crime. lol. It's just a really small, really sleepy little farmer type town. So the Houston news is just awful to us. LOL

I'm loving Houston. I have a cute neighbor.
Traffic sucks though. Big time.
Boo hoo, trying sitting in LA traffic for 3-4 hours just to go 32 miles!
