Considering the lack of success, how is this team maintaining such a strong fanbase?

Sticking with a losing team is what being a fan is about.

I was born and raised in Dallas and nothing can change that, so I have a connection to the Cowboys in that way.

It would admittedly be more difficult to stick with my Cowboys-only fandom if I had a connection with another team that tended to win more, like if I ever end up moving to an NFL town again, but I don't think I can ever give it up.

Sticking with your favorite team through the ups and downs are part of being s fan. At some point, there needs to be some ups. 20 years between ups is a little excessive IMO.

I wish I could jump off the bandwagon. I live in the heart of Steeler country and it would make a ton of sense logically for me to become a Steelers fan but I just cant.

I want nothing more than to see Tony Romo win a Super Bowl but sadly it looks like it will never happen. Big Ben the rapist will probably get to his fourth this year and Romo is still waiting. Sometimes life is just not fair.

Hang in their our time will come.

CowboysZone ULTIMATE Fan
My 8 year old niece just became a Cowboys fan with no prodding from me whatsoever. In fact, I try to keep all things Cowboys away from my nieces and nephew, preferring to watch games alone, etc. But somehow she has become a fan and squeals with excitement whenever she sees what she calls "that Dallas Cowboys star." She wants to be a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader when she grows up. I don't think she understands the rules or the train wreck that the team is right now, but my brother says she watches and screams whenever the Cowboys score. So go figure. Maybe it is the media exposure, but if she's any example, young people are still becoming Cowboys fans.

I laugh when folks say we're bandwagon fans. We haven't won a SB in twenty years, but we still have a huge fan base.

By definition, we aren't bandwagon fans.

Dedication to America's Team! We may have the most dedicated fans in the NFL!

Hm.

Don't know whether to be proud or insulted...................

It's easy to be a cowboys fan bc they're always discussed so you don't have to pay as much attention

When it comes to the Cowboys I'm selfish, I don't care how many people pull for them or boo them. They are My Cowboys and could care less about anyone else's feelings. lol

Us old people beat it into our kids who in turn beat it in to their kids and so on.

Can confirm. Live in New Jersey and was made to watch Cowboys Superbowl VHS tapes in Orwellian fashion and plan to do the same with my kid. Hopefully with the 2016 Season deluxe BluRay version with a holographic Tony Romo Superbowl MVP trading card.

That doesn't mean what it once did . As a fan, I would appreciate our return o being the class of the NFL

That is subject to ones opinion. I would bet the consensus amongst real, long term fans would mean you are wrong.

The Cowboys were in the dumps pre-Jerry.
