I think a lot of people may put too much stock into first round draft picks. Especially ones as low as the ones we have.

In terms of trading for a player like Darren McFadden, who could easily be a home run answer for us at running back.

Would you trade two of the following players for Adrian Peterson?

Anthony Spencer
Bobby Carpenter
Demarcus Ware
Julius Jones*
Terence Newman
Roy Williams
Quincy Carter*
Dwayne Goodrich*
Ebenezer Ekuban
Greg Ellis

2nd round draft picks

The only players I wouldn't trade on that list are Ware and Newman. And I would trade the entire list (assuming they were still on the team) for Adrian Peterson.

would you trade any of those two players for

reggie bush
ronnie brown
cedric benson
cadillac williams

i didnt think so

Not only have you lost all credibility with that statement, i fear you've lost your mind.

Somebody get a straight jacket quick.

You could flip that and say "would you trade D Ware and T Newmann for Cedric Bensen...or worse yet, Andre Ware. If you use extreme cases you get extreme answers.

Not really. No offense Bid Dakota, but his point is 100% right on target. All draft picks are unknow to some degree. Otherwsie AP would have been drafted much higher.

Point is we HAVE to get two good football players with these picks.

Dmac is as close to a sure thing as there is in my opinion in this draft. If we find out that Oakland would trade #4 to us for 22, 28 and we end up getting players the quality of Bobby Carpenter and Marcus SPears, it will be a disaster.

Im not sure where I am on the whole trading for Dmac thing...

How can you say that he is the closest to a sure thing is just beyond me. Just some recent examples, Dayne and Bush won the Heisman, one we already know didn't do much, the other is still a work in progress afer 2 seasons. Leinart won championships with Bush and White, none of those are doing well in the NFL.

People, stop watching those draft specials where they only show a few highlights from 2, 3 or even 4 years worth of playing to get you excited and hyped up.

That being said, I would love to see DMac as a Cowboy, but not at the expense of 2 draft picks. This draft calss is deep and Dallas can get 2 shots at getting a the next big thing.

I didnt like Dayne at ALL coming out and thought Reggie Bush was the most overrated college football player in the last 15 years. So your comments dont apply to me.

The fact that you would compare Dayne to D. Mcfadden really just discredits your entire post and makes perfectly clear you do not watch college football but let me say this. For the record I have seen probably 20 Razorback games over the last two seasons and I do not watch three second clips to come to an opinion.

It is a fact if DMAC becomes a Cowboy I am the first who buys a jersey. I will be so pumped up, no matter if we lose both first rounders. And when he scores his first TD for us everybody will be in full joy. I can´t wait for draft-day. And if it´s not gonna happen so what...then draft best CB,WR,RB available...good for me.

Is there any reason why this thread is supposed to be about 1st round picks but half the list includes 2nd rounders?

The dumbest thing I have ever heard. Hands down, the dumbes post I've ever read and I've read quite of few of eduncans posts.

This post however takes things to a completely new level of dumb. If Dante's Inferno were in regards to dumbness instead of damnation, you would single handedly knock those other three guys out of the mouth of the beast.

I just can't get past McFaddens 23 fumbles.

1 fumble every 38 touches. That is awful high don't you guys think?

Dallas has all those lousy players, yet somehow they managed to finish 13-3, while the Minnesota Vikings featuring super star Adrian Peterson only managed 8-8.

Carp wasn't the only guy on your list. You said you'd trade EVERYONE on your list. Now that's just nonsense.

When you substract Newman and Ware from the list you have 8 players left if they were all on the team. Would anybody else be willing to trade 8 players for DMac? Absurdity.
