that is what we have been missing for so long.

That is why the Colts and Pats and Steelers and the birds are always in the mix.

They have a solid plan and they stick to it in all ways. From drafting to FA's to coaching staffs to how much to spend on whoever. They have a well thought out plan and while now and then they deviate, they always come back to the same steady course.

And that is why the Dallas Cowboys are up and down. Jerruh cannot maintain a steady course.

Well, hopefully we are in the year one of a 10+ run by JG....

You are right -- it helps teams (think Steelers, Packers, Colts) immensely being in the same offensive system year after year -- same on defense. You draft players for the system/scheme -- plug them in/etc.

and they bring in coaches to fit into that system as well; they do not change the system every time they change a coach.

Can't argue against this team having a series of one year plans under Jerry but hopefully that's no longer the case. The very best thing that can happen is to have stability at the head coaching position but with the right head coach in place.

I still say we lack talent. That's a major hurdle I don't know we can clear with the current talent evaluators in place. How much say does Jason Garrett have? How good is he at evaluating talent anyway?

As I posted somewhere else today, Jerry is an "instant gratification" sort. He's not one for "building for the future", which is a determent to this club.

I always thought that because of Benson the Saints would never win it all. Same with Bidwell in St Louis then Phoenix. Yet one did and another almost did. Which goes to show you that even being like that you can still sometimes win it all.

Sad thing is that if Jerruh was just a little less impulsive and more controlled, we would be so much better off.

I think Stephen's increasing influence is being seen in these recent years.

What evidence do you have that Stephen's philosophy of team building is any different than Jerry's?

read what he has said. Listen to him. He is much more controlled and calculating then Jerruh is.

Listen to him where? I've never heard Stephen ever talk about his team building philosophy. All I know about the guy is he's Jerry's son and he's had a direct hand in awful personnel decisions over the years. He's also the cap guy for a 6 win team that entered this offseason in the worst cap shape in the NFL.

Fans like to pretend Stephen is this all knowing sensible future savior. I haven't seen a single sign of it in his entire tenure here.
