Contrary To Reports: Micah has Shown Up To OTAs. It Was Only For Media Purposes

The optics of being present for essentially the media only is worse than if he didn't show up at all.

Someone close to Micah that's not just a clinging parasite should probably have a sit-down with him (perhaps multiple conversations). I don't state that as a person who doesn't want Micah to have a life outside of football - please do, enjoy your success! He's just got so many pokers in the fire that perhaps he's losing track of priorities. IDK, he's just got to remember that it's his reputation of excellence on the playing field that's given him the platform to perform all his extracurricular activities.

BTW, we dog Coach but I applaud his ability to toe the line between subtly expressing his disappoint and just tossing a star under the bus in regard to Micah being a non-participant at OTA's. His wording has been careful yet the message is clear.

So much for being a team leader....a new defensive coordinator, a new scheme and Micah can't be bothered to show up and learn the new scheme and lead by example for the defense.....

Why does he need to be a "team leader"? Is every player supposed to be a team leader?

It'd be cool if he was, but I don't think he's that guy. As long as he keeps racking up double digit sacks every year, that's totally fine.

I'll take a media loving "follower" like Micah, who is an elite player that impacts the game every snap, over a "team leader" who doesn't impact the game.

Would people here like Micah more if he was an average player but showed up to OTAs? Nope. We would all be calling him a waste of a high draft pick.

You mean the same guy who will demand to be paid as the highest in the league at his position yet dissappears in big games...There's more to the game than just having double digit sacks..

He’s great for about the first 11 Weeks.

Too bad there’s 18 Weeks.

If your best player isn't a team leader you have problems. Why should your average players show up and try hard if your star players don't?
