Controversial play calls

Part time referees. There’s no accountability. The league doesn’t want to pay health benefits. For full-time referees. Maybe the next players meeting. Because this is getting out of control. Even worse like someone just said within chip instant replay

whirlwin-----makes me so sick they dont make refs "full time with benefits".....because these refs determine outcome of games and too many have been called so poorly makes me wonder what is really going on?

It’s nice to talk to a real football fan. It ruins my week when the Cowboys lose. My wife won’t come near me lol no I’m not violent I’m just miserable

Whirlwin---same here....i will be totally honest now....i am 63 and when game begins to turn into cardiac game
Football isn’t meant to be an absolute occurrence. There could be a penalty called on every play,

We don’t really want perfection.

true...but do we not want recourse when a call is so horrible?...i mean we can limit to like one a game per team lets say?

The ball hit the ground my cowboy brother. But that’s why it’s controversial

It's controversial to who, raiders fans? I haven't seen anything showing it hiring the ground. Did the play take every ref by surprise? Weren't they watching?

The raiders just got beat by a fluke in a game they had all but won. It's understandable that their fans would be bitter.

The BS roughing the passer call in the 1976 playoff game between the raiders and Patriots. Giving the raiders new life and another chance to win. They did and went on to win that super bowl. Patriots got it back over two decades later on the tuck rule.

Another one was that TD the Colts got in super bowl V costing Dallas the game.

I don’t know why you made this about the fans. Because I don’t like either team. people at that game totally believe the ball hit the ground

I was born in 1954. Too many games too many seasons to remember everything. I’m glad we both have our intelligence

In this video at the 1:18 mark you can see the ground. But it's still unclear that he caught it due to the crappy video quality. But if I had to guess based on that video, It looked like he caught it.

What people? It was in Pittsburgh. Some drunken Raiders fans from the cheap seats think it hit the ground? I'm sure they did.

No some Pittsburgh fan think so also . There is absolutely nothing definitive. That’s why it’s controversial

I guess you're right. And me being a Cowboys fan I have no love for Pittsburgh. I just think this is sour grapes and trying to explain away a fluke. Think about it. Was there a bigger miracle? There was no time left. Too far away for a hail Mary. There had to be a ricochet, scoop, then run down the sideline. You can't make this crap up.

I know how you feel. Let me explain. As a little kid my father got me to watch sports by letting me pick teams and we'd bet a dollar or two using my Christmas and birthday money. Primarily basketball, some football, but just playoffs.

It worked. I became a huge sports fan and played sports non stop. But that method creates a rivalry. The 1975 NFL playoffs was the first football I've ever watched. My father refused to let me have the Steelers. He said nope, the Steelers are my team!! You get the Cowboys.

No problem. Took the Cowboys and lost in a heartbreaker. To his dismay I never relinquished that team. Dallas not only became my favorite NFL team, but favorite sports team by far. I'm glad he did what he did. I can't imagine being a fan of any Penn. or NY team.

So even though he got me into sports, he created a father/son rivalry at the same time.

I broke a 26 inch series consul TV when Smith dropped the ball in the Endzone. Long time ago. I was in the military , Too much testosterone. Lol. Those days are over. Although I do get emotional. It’s an emotional game

Flamma---was that not the year and playoffs where Staubach threw original "hail mary" to Drew Pearson and Cowboys lost to Steelers in Super Bowl ..21-17?

Yes it was. That Hail Mary came a few plays after Dallas converting a 4th and 17. I don't think the Cowboys had a 17 yard pass all game. That sideline pass and catch by Pearson was a thing of beauty. Especially considering it was in the mud with no time to throw all game. But the only thing I remember watching was the SB.

Back then the 26 inch was top of the line. The closest I came to that was breaking a 12 inch black and white after Danny White got strip sacked in the 1981 NFC championship game. Mad that the Cowboys lost a game they should have won. And mad that I had to watch it with a Giants fan on a 12 inch black and white TV!
