Cook says he is open to returning to Dallas

Turpin has to be schemed where he is unscathed and non-jam-pressed at the line whereas Brandin is more physically stronger and experienced at beating press jam at line
than a Turpin. Turpin is not the outside WR that Brandin Cooks is in that role.

As far as Detroit Lions and Brandon Cooks, they already have their 1-2 WRs set in place with long term deal with St. Brown and 1st round draft pick speedy Jamison.
Completely agree with much of what your saying with Turpin vs Cooks. Just my opinion but I'd much rather find that true possession receiver outside....Maybe thats a Tet McMillian in the draft? Maybe a Keenan Allen in FA? I dont know the exact answer but I dont love a 32 year old burner type as my starter. I'd love that speed/burner type to be more of a rotational guy like Turpin.

Also no argument on what you said about Detroit, I'm just saying I would love to see the Cowboys go that route. They already have a St Brown type in Lamb....Dont be afraid to spend resources to get a better #2. I'm not trying to knock Cooks as much as I'm saying lets go get better at the position, and that may be by using your #1 pick this year on a WR.

Maybe....but I have to believe if a team wanted him bad enough it would have already happened. Notice how quickly Kirk the Texans jumped on Kirk trade ( 24-48 hours ) after it was announced. This is just me, Kupp will be 32 in June and has only played 1 full season ( 2021 ) in 8 years. Just don't see a team pulling the trigger for that amount of money knowing the Rams WILL release him. Just a matter of when....even then, I think he's looking at a modest 2-year deal on the open market. I hate to say it but he's old and injury prone.....not a good combination.
No argument there, I think thats a very reasonable stance. I just hate the wait and see aspect of it all. Do you not go grab another WR in FA waiting to see what they do with Kupp? I wouldnt mind sending them a 6th or 7th rounder to check off a need from your list so you can be more targeted in FA and your draft prep.

Oh I think if we want him bad enough, he will be a Cowboy. We just need Stephen to outbid other teams once he hits the open market and frankly, I don't think he is going to have a strong market. Even if another team wanted him bad enough, they could have given the Rams a 7 rounder ( like the Texans ) and restructured what is left on the deal into 2-3 years guaranteeing X amount. Also, it doesn't help his market/trade value with what seems like 1000 free-agent WRs available by the start of free agency.

It's crazy to think he's never been a free agent. I think we can upgrade WR2 and let Turpin, Tolbert, and someone else compete for snaps at wr3.

I have to say it again. All fingers keep coming back pointing to McCarthy. The evidence of his mismanagement of players during his time in Dallas only continues to grow. There are many reasons I keep saying he should have been gone after GB. This is another one. At least he is gone now.
Ya because its McCarthy's fault that Cooks fell off a cliff lol.

Stop this.

This will be the interesting thing to keep a close eye on. There are a lot of names floating out there, but as the actual FA pool sits right now it looks a little weak in my opinion.

He hasn’t produced the way we hoped and has had injury issues. Time to move on.

Per Nick Harris, it’s Tet or Mykkel Williams at this point
McMillan would be outstanding. He's one of the few players ive watched outside of the Colorado players and Cam Ward. Just not into the draft as much this year. But a month ago, I never imagined McMillan would even be a possibility if the Cowboys draft position fell below 6.

He didn't "fell off a cliff lol" at all. He was mismanaged.

Cowboys management thought of Brandin Cooks one way ( thus the trade for him) ...while HC McCarthy thought of Brandin Cooks a far different way ( i don't think he even wanted Cooks)

Remember how McCarthy was hammered by the local media in how badly he non-involved and ignored Cooks in the passing offense the first half of 23 season ?
McCarthy's emotional response to the criticism ... " I don't play Fantasy Football "
Like I said before, it all goes back to McCarthy. This happened to many players.
