It sure looks like Cooks has taken over the #2 WR spot. Gallup is rarely used at all, they go to the TEs more. Is Gallup 100% and is Cooks just the better all around WR. Gallup got that huge contract and was great as a down the field threat, it would be nice to work him into the gameplan more.

Cooks has always been better than Gallup.

Obviously a terrible contract. Tried to keep him cheap at time of injury. Turns out they got ripped off. Seems like a great guy but he wasn't exactly fast before his injury and now he can't buy seperation.

I always felt like the difference in gallups contract and what he is as a player, wouldn't be worth the drop off from him to Cooper. But water under the bridge at this point.
Cooper being released was about him refusing to get the vax and missing games because of the virus.
That's speculation on my part.
But , I think I read somewhere Jerry was upset about the above.
Sure his contract played a part in the decision as well.

Im glad you can admit that. I honestly never understood where ppl with that stance were coming from.
My stance was I didn’t like Amaris body language. I wanted dogs. I felt Gallup was that. But I also felt I’d rather have Gallup at 12 million then Amari at 20. If salaries were the same? Cooper no question.

But I think with some of these guys we remember them at their best. But when you take a step back….Gallup has really only had one good year. I think the injury really hurt him and his confidence. I still think getting rid of Amari was the right choice they just didn’t replace him and failed at that. And Gallup should’ve never been signed.

When people bring this up I always combat it with if Dak and Lamb or Micah didn’t get the vax would they have been cut? Hell no. That’s why I can’t buy that story. It’s like when people said we cut Poe because of him kneeling. It’s just not a convenient story.
