In summary, OBJ gets $15 million with $18 million potential in a deal negotiated by Zeke Sandhu.

Beckham hasn't averaged more than 65 yards per game since 2018.

Cooks broke 1,000 yards in 2,020 and 2021, and we signed him for $12 million, even though he has a proven history of production in recent years, minus the injury.

While defending my reason for supporting the job the current Jones ownership is doing, I've said that I like what they're doing a lot because of what they have not done, such as signing OBJ in this case, when they could get Cooks for as much as $6 million less.

Our fans will say this is cheap. I call it being prudent.

Unless you were there, this just can’t be funny, but I’ve gotta say it since that word was mentioned.

High School. Auto shop. A requirement. Ok.

Teacher was an older nice man who spoke very slowly and deliberately. Monotone. He would read us passages from repair manuals and several of us would semi doze off here and there.

Then he would stop, pick out someone who was clearly distracted and say, “Mister ____, would you care to ELUCIDATE on what I have just read?”

Then, before an answer was possible per time, he would slowly remove his reading glasses, stare down the person and say…”now, do you know what I mean when I say elucidate?”

Funny part….he would do exactly that several times a month, clearly not remembering that we have been over the term many times prior.

I’d wager I’m one of the few that learned the word in auto shop, and wouldn’t know it otherwise.

Forgiven? We are on their radar in terms of game attendance, TV viewership, merchandise sales, and the like. Grudges where there are no interaction seem silly to me.

I am more interested in what they are going to do with coaches in the future. MM is a good coach. They seem to be letting MM and Quinn pick their staffs. Garrett has not been here in several seasons.

This free agency period have seen two inspired and fruitful trades as well as keeping most of the free agents plus jettisoning the albatross of Zeke's contract.

They do well drafting. We have had some hiccups so grains of salt are appropriate but things are looking up.

The Joneses are not going anywhere. Not sweating things you cannot change is a virtue.
No grudges. And no this is not a smite at Garrett. He is long gone. But the damage has been done.

We still have not been to the championship rounds for almost 3 decades and counting. We have wasted our years on ineffective coaching and bad decision thanks to Jerry. So if you want to give him credit for all of this thats fine. But we really know how bad of a GM that guy really is. He just takes the credit for what the "football guys" do behind the scene. Making it up in one year or doesn't count.

It was an excellent move for Cooks. I also consider it a great makeup for trading Cooper away. We essentially got a player of similar production back for 8 million less a year. Front office is doing well this offseason.

No doubt the front office has fielded some talented teams over the last couple of decades but where they have had made mistakes is hiring the wrong head coaches after Parcells. Hopefully McCarthy will get it done!

You spoke in terms of forgiveness. You cannot forgive them for Garrett and you cannot forgive them for winning enough. A grudge is a persistent feeling of ill will. I guess ill will nad lack of forgiveness are not exact but it is just a matter of degree.

And to think it only took 25 years for Jones's "ownership" to start getting it right.

Perhaps it will only take another 25 years for them to learn how to actually build a championship team with these great personnel decisions.

Wholly disagree here.

Everyone available is an aging veteran. That's typically who's on the market this time of year.

It was a smart decision. Just swallow your pride and admit it.
Whether or not it was a smart decision remains to be seen. I do think Brandon Cooks was the best WR available for peanuts.

Problem isn’t their free agent signings. It’s the normal lack there of because they overvalued their own and got in cap trouble.

They’re trying to make up ground for giving Cooper away. As usual, Jerruh is reactionary and not predictive. Granted, this was a good move now but a move should’ve been made before last season started.
