Extremely overrated, I don’t get it. These guys made a career putting up the same numbers so it really makes no sense in this situation. Better than Gallup and James Washington.. yes. Better than Cooks.. nope.
Cooks is much more consistent than Cooper.

Its become weird atp.

69 catches 865 yards his last season here, yet folks acting like we traded away a prime Michael irvin for a 5th
Cooper is a low end #1 WR. He's the guy you simply cannot overpay, due to him simply not always being available.

Cooper was disappointing. Has all the talent in the world but had zero emotion for the game and a tendency to disappear in big games.

Cooks is not better talent wise but appears to be a better fit for this roster and scheme. Not to mention cheaper.

Ok. Nobody in the world of football other than a few people in here think cooks is better than cooper. Give it a rest
Cooks is a high end #2 type WR, Cooper is a low end #1 type WR. They are polar opposite types, not really even comparable.

A low end #1 replaced by a better #1. People don’t want to see it. You don’t just transfer that money to the #2 spot.

W/ different skillsets, it's really hard to compare the two. However, the salary reduction alone makes Cooks the easy choice. It's really not close.

Cooper is better without a doubt. But when you take into account price, you probably will get more value out of cooks.

That’s why he was traded often and the same thing is happening with Cooper. Very good #2 WRs at this point and low end #1s.

1) is Cooks better than Amari Cooper right now?
2) is cooks a smallish speed guy that gets open the best fit for this offense?
3) who would you rather have cost-wise?
4) can Cooks get 1k yards?
5) can he run jets and quicks?

No
Doubtful he"s the guy but a needed skill for this O
Parris Campbell or Mack Hollins or Cooper original contract
No
Maybe. More so quicks than jets
You missed a big question.

Can he play on the road?

Both WRs have gone over 1150 yards 3 times in their career. Good numbers. solid. But you can’t sell it as more than that.
I think Cooper is a very good WR but Cook is as well. I don't have any issue if some people like Cooper guy has proved himself but Cook is not some jag and has also gone out on the field and proved himself.

Is he? He's better at some things, but Cooks is better at others. Isn't Cooks a YAC fiend? Cooks is a better deep threat, and the big one, Cooks trumps the heck out of Cooper when it comes to availability and just simple desire.

I'm curious. Why are people proclaiming that Cooper is better? All things considered, I'm not sure it's true. Cooks is the guy that can take a screen to the house. Cooper is not.

I’m not comparing skill sets. Just pointing out it was Lamb who replaced Cooper. The better 1 taking over for a low end 1.

They are different types of receiver. If Cooks plays with some intensity it will be a big advantage over Cooper.

I was never a big Cooper fan, and I completely understood trading him away. What I did not understand was not replacing him with a comparable receiver, and I did not understand trading him for a 5th round pick after using a 1st to get him.

Yes. Cooper just puts up better numbers his entire career , year in year out bc he’s not a better player. Good one. Nobody judges players based on production. You are right.
Cooks - 132 games
630 catches8616 yards49 TD's13.7 ypc98 long
Per Game
4.8 catches65.3 yards0.4 TD's

Cooper - 125 games
59582365513.890
Per Game
4.8 catches65.9 yards0.4 TD's

Yeah, Cooper has WILDLY outperformed Cooks - NOT . But, more importantly, Cooks isn't being asked to replace Cooper - CeeDee replaced Cooper. Cooks is coming in to be a #2. Period. And, he ISN'T costing $20M...

I liked Coop but this thread doesn't make any sense. We chose Lamb over Coop. We're not replacing Coop with Cooks. For what this team needs and the price, both this season and forward, it's really hard to beat what Cooks can bring.

They need to rip this page out of the playbook, or at least move it toward the back, and not use it so often. That quick pass to the outside as well.
Unless MM can somehow make them work and disguise them better.
They can work when used properly, again thats the problem i had with alot of KM's plays, they never seemed to have purpose. If your gaining 5 to 7 yards on dive plays and completing 10 yard PA's off the run it can back up the defense and put the zone LB's in a bind when you run an RPO dive/bubble..when your gaining 3 yards up the middle and the CB's is in Press zone watching the play develop they get blown up.

I don’t mind if some like Cooper, it’s the over exaggeration about how important he was to the offense. He simply was no longer worth the contract after he was replaced by a better and younger WR.

I agree, looking at production and cost I think Cowboys are getting Cook at a much better deal and not losing the production. Cook has been in Houston with little help from other WR on that team and one of the lowest rated QB in the NFL. Cook brings outside speed and big play ability that should fit well with Lamb
