Who do you take?

I stole this topic off another board.

tough choice

probably Star

he could be the best player in the draft

I don't think you can go wrong with either pick. It is a WIN WIN situation.

Both are top rated players and both are at a position of need.

I would imagine that Star is probably SLIGHTLY rated higher on their board but again You just can't go wrong with either pick IMO.

That's actually a tough choice for me with the consolation that both are probably going to be at least good players for a long time barring injury.

I would be hoping the consensus was strong so I didn't have to cast the deciding vote. If I did I would probably go with Star who is likely the higher ranked player and both are at a PON.

I picked Cooper cause I figure in a best case both would be great but Star would be in some sort of a dline rotation where Coop would play every offensive snap.

Man, how horrible for Dallas to have those two to choose from. I go with Cooper personally.

I'm sprinting to turn in the card with Star's name on it, not even close. And I'm VERY pro OL early and often.

I think I would go Star personally.

I really like Cooper but adding Star to our D Line could really make our D Line a strength.

Im not sure adding Cooper makes our O Line even average.

Star in a heartbeat. He was the #1 overall pick on various boards until his health scare.

He'll command a double-team every play in the NFL. He won't be a stat-padder, but he's designed to be and free up others to make plays.

Yeah, seriously, Star would be the easy choice here. A game altering DT is very difficult to find. If you can get a potential game changer at DT over a very good OG, then you do that 10 out of 10 times.

If Star falls to #18, then NFL teams really did find something wrong with him medically. In that case I would pass also. If there is nothing wrong with him, then he will not be available at #18.

Star because his name fits the franchise.

:laugh2:

Yes, and Dallas Thomas in the 3rd or 4th

seriously though, I still believe Star to be one of the elite talents in this draft...Cooper is very good and I believe him to be the best OG, but Star is a top 5 guy to me.

I go Starr because we can still get a good G in the later rounds and I think there is a bigger dropoff in DTs after Sly Williams than there is a Guard.

Yeah, it is a win-win in that situation but if I'm the Cowboys, I think I go with Letulelie as well. There are no DTs in this class with his combination of ability. He has some issues. He's not a finished product, by any stretch. He needs to be in a better conditioning program and he needs to learn the position better but the upside on those two things is frightening. Imagine what Marinelli could do with Star. So yeah, there is more boom/bust potential with Letulilie then there is with Cooper IMO but the upside is awesome.

So what do you want? Cooper is probably less risk, Star is probably more upside. Either way, you will a heck of a football player if both are there.
