Cooper Beebe had a nice season statistically

My intent isn't to knock Beebe here, the guy had a pretty good year overall, but I think we do need some context when comparing Centers to other positions along the OL. Centers will often times be the extra guy on the OL when a team rushes 4 and wont have a man directly over them. Centers also tend to either see overloaded looks if the OL is weaker on the interior, or minimal heavy looks if their team is weaker on the edges like the Cowboys were this season. Among all Centers in football Beebe's pressures allowed ranks 14th in the league for all Centers who meet minimum snap requirements. A year ago his 18 pressures would have been 4th best in the league for whatever its worth. I'd have to dig in deeper to the actual data to say for sure, but It does seem to be a trend around the league in more edge pressure than interior pressure this season.

Again I'm not trying to bash Beebe at all, I'm a big fan, but on a list like that I think a guy like Joe Alt is more impressive even though the pressure % is higher.

After this season I would be more than happy enough to leave the interior of the line alone and just figure out if it's best to move Guyton or not to Right tackle.

Smith at LG is a lock, then you got Hoffman, Bass, and Beebe to fight over the center/RG spot. Will they be all pro? Nope, could they be good enough so the team can focus on bigger issues on day 1-2 in the draft? Yes

Beebe did a good job, always fun to look at the guys from last draft cycles production.I know it's just pass blocking, but seeing Beebe ahead of Barton and JPJ is encouraging.

Now McClay and company can go find another C this draft and move Beebe to RG.

I think it gives us the flexibility to either find a C or G based on talent and depth of the positions in the draft, or even FA. Finding a good C isnt easy so if he has to stay at G I am cool with that as well.

Your exactly right, and actually the draft looks more promising at OG, so Beebe may have a good chance remaining the Center.
