I understand all of that. That's not what I'm talking about. The media talked about other plays towards the end of the playoff game.
It was mostly the fans that don’t like Cooper that were talking about other plays. He became a whipping boy for a lot of Cowboys fans. I really don’t understand why when you go back and look at some of the big plays he made for the team. He wasn’t emotional/fiery enough for some fans and they didn’t like his body language. It gave the appearance he didn’t care and wasn’t trying. He’s a terrific receiver and we missed him last season.

That’s BS! Jerry was pissed because he got Covid and had to miss a couple of games. He talked about how upset he was about it during his radio interview. A lot of us knew that could spell the end for Cooper in Dallas.
Sorry but it’s not BS. Cooper disappeared frequently in big games. All this the owner and team is the worst rhetoric is getting old. We’re having an A+ off-season and we’re arguably the best drafting team in the lg. If you guys wanna be mad be mad at Dak. He earned that lol.

What do you guys think? I’m not talking about stats. Would you guys rather have Cooper or Cooks as WR2? I do think Cook gives us that deep threat we’ve been missing, and has good hands. Cooper beats him in route running.
13 million for Cooper this year vs 12 for cook.

Sos it is cooks + a bunch more vs Coop.

I like Cooks

Is Hilton still on the roster?

CeeDee
Cooks
Gallup
Hilton

That makes the WR corps fro last season look as stupid as Jerry made it.

Cooper wore out his welcome and that’s why he is gone. Not to mention he disappeared half the time. Give me Cooks and let’s go after it!
Cooper didn't wear out his welcome with me.
Whatever personal problems management had with Cooper got in the way of having a better team last year and will keep us from being a better team this year.

I don't want Cooper back. He's known to disappear in big games and away games. There's a reason he's on his 3rd team and still fairly young. No thanks!!

Wish we kept cooper and Jerry would have gotten over his ego and not take things personal as he did. Cooper is a #1 WR. He has consistently been over 1000 yards and 70 catches. Yes in 2021 he fell out of favor with Jerry buy still had 68 and 800+.

Gallup, CD and Cooper is a better group than CD, Gallup, Cooks. And yes the additional money would have been worth it. You can always redo contracts to manage cap.

Honestly, give me the guy who wants to be here.
Lot of players want to be here. A country. Lub atmosphere. Access to the owner who over pays and gets into business with you if you are just slightly nice to him. Nobody comes here hoping to win a ring. They come here for chilling and one last payday

Maybe he would have been the difference but maybe he wouldn’t have either.

Personally I would have kept cooper but it’s old news, and I’m onto the effect cooper would have in 2023 not 2022. I get why the cowboys moved on but I think the bigger mistake was counting on an injured Gallup, James Washington, and a 3rd round rookie to replace him. A better replacement + the salary relief makes a ton of sense. Letting a WR1/2 Go and replacing with scraps and a guy coming off an Acl injury wasn’t a smart bet.
100 percent agreement

Loved having Cooper on this team. Cowboys moved on and so did I. Stat wise these 2 WR (Cook and Cooper) very comparable. Big difference is pay. Cook will cost Dallas 12 mill this year and 16.5 the following year. Meanwhile Cooper is 23.7 mill each of the next 2 seasons.

As Andy Reid said once they knew Coop was out they were confident.

CLE reworked his deal and now he is the 3rd highest cap hit at WR in the NFL.
He was going to cost 66M over 3 years on the cap, period.
Team has to eat 6M regardless but Cooper is NOT and was NOT worth that kind of jack (20M AAV) and I wish more Cowboys fans could be honest about that.

He PO'd the Jones after they PO'd him but not restructuring him and seeing his targets fall while CeeDee's rose.

Cooks and Cooper are essentially equivalent statistically so I's choose the guy that costs 10M LESS on the cap this year.
My commented solely related to what could have been done last year. Obviously in a new year, new situation, you go with a guy with similar production for half the price.

Cooper could have made a huge difference for Dallas last year. We ultimately counted on Noah Brown and TY Hilton as Gallup was nowhere near 100%. Big difference.
