Point is the Cowboys won a game with a practice squad QB. Look at the state of the 49ers against the Packers right now without their QB1.
As has been pointed out and chucked down thr throats of Dallas Cowboy fans from Dak Prescott fans has been how amazing he has played and look at HIS win record.
What has been shown time and time again is that Dak Prescott does not move the needle. Dak Prescott is not elite. Dak Prescott is not a game changer. Dak Prescott is not the guy to carry the Cowboys to wins in any games against teams with winning records. He is not worth anywhere near the money he earns. Football fans know this yet Dak Prescott fans refuse to admit his limitations. It's nauseating and the reason why they have to be called out.
Dak Prescott butchered three Superbowl calibre teams in 2016, 2021 and 2022. Sometimes a QB will have to win a shot out and times they will have to score 20 points to win a play off game. Prescott couldn't do that when required so WHY ON EARTH did he get paid?! Can someone please answer that question.
Dak butchered them in 2016? In that playoff loss he threw for 302 yards and three touchdowns and ran for a two point conversion. The defense let the Packers out of a 3rd and 20 to kick the game winning field goal at the buzzer.
The Cowboys won today because Rush made no mistakes. They needed two kick return touchdowns and two missed Commanders kicks to pull it off (a FG and PAT).
Whether or not Dak is elite is not the point. Great teams and great coaching staffs can win a lot of games, even a Super Bowl, with a quarterback of Dak Prescott's caliber. Several have done so already. It's not like Dak is a Josh Rosen or Paxton Lynch or a Johnny Manziel or a Zack Wilson. Those are the QB's that lose games because they flat out suck.
Dak has been here long enough for the Cowboys to know what he is. An upper middle tier QB, maybe someone who ranks 7 to 12 on a scale of 1-32 NFL starters.
Smart teams, specifically smart GMs, build a team around their franchise QB that puts them in position to be successful. THIS is where the Cowboys have failed, time and time again. The issue here is Jerry Jones and his son.
Not making excuses for Dak because I admit he is not without his share of the blame. But I have witnessed three DECADES of failure here when it counts the most. Certain fans can make this all about Dak Prescott if they want, but let's not pretend this team was rolling up postseason wins between 1996-2015 before he got here, either.
