Might be the most undeserving player in the NFL.

He does nothing outstanding he can’t move. He has no arm strength. He throws pop flies. He has no emotion. The fans are not clamoring for him like most fan base is clamor for a back up quarterback.

The fan base wants to see the third string quarterback, not him playing/ he does nothing to help the organization moving forward.

There’s really no upside to him even being on the roster he’s completely overpaid.

He was awful in that game yesterday fumbling snaps, terrible decisions weak throws behind the receiver, missing wide open targets.

Not playing Trey Lance a guy that you gave up a fourth round pick for and just riding with a clipboard is beyond asinine. This is the time to see if this guy can actually be a serviceable roster player.

Rush is a guy that was released and played for the Giants and somehow found his way back to Dallas.

Again, he adds nothing to the football team.

If he throws five touchdowns on Thursday, it still means nothing he is neither of the present or the future.

I agree with the last sentence of the OP. But he is the perfect backup. Knows the offense, can win games, demands nothing and is a team player. It's not his fault our QB1 has no consistency and the QB3 experiment failed. He just plays when being asked, keeps his mouth shut and the team seems to be willing to play for him.

What more of your backup QB could you want. That is a huge upside (at minimum the one you need) and his salary is fine. I don't care if they let him go or not, but as long as he was here he has done the job that was expected from him. Period. 6-3. End of story.

Despite little offense in the first half some are acting like Rush should be our future starter going forward because we finally got something going in the second half. It’s hilarious how most we’re crapping all over him the previous two weeks and now all of a sudden there’s claims we’re a better team with him.

Oh yeah? Then what about #4? Jerry said it himself that the offense was just as bad when he was on the field, but we're going to say that Rush is the most undeserving player in the NFL? Why does Mr 60 mil get a pass when he sucks every bit as much?

A man has a right to make a living, he is doing just that. I agree with you he is nothing special and not the one to lead this team to any championship. Of course, neither is Dak. We know what we have in both of them. And neither one is the fan’s favorite. One costs an arm and a leg, and the other one just a couple of fingers.

I also agree Lance should be the one taking the majority of the snaps, but now it may be more unlikely because they won. The Cowboys can’t even tank well. 7-10 here we come.

Well it seems he can motivate his teammates.

Since he started the defense is playing better and better. Maybe they feel it makes sense again to give it all. With the other bum at qb you could sense the whole team lost their believe.

And he seems to be a real leader. Does not talk a lot. Leads by example. Has a natural autority that surrounds him.

Not like the other bum. Who talks a lot and cant be taken serious.

They keep on crediting him saying that he is the reason for the Cowboys being 5-1 0r 7-3. But again if he QB play was actually the main factor for why the Cowboys have this record with him as a starter, then one would think some NFL GM would at least share this viewpoint at some time and offer the Cowboys front office some first round picks for Rush. QBs like Pickett and Riddler have been traded to other teams, even when their actual W-L record isn't impressive. Yet for some reason Cooper Rush has yet to find a consistent job outside of being the back up for the Cowboys. Despite this W-L record some keep on crediting him for. If Rush's agent believed this W-L record could translate into Rush getting a starting job elsewhere, one would believe he would encourage Rush to explore free agency. Rather than staying a back up on the Cowboys.

I was all about starting Lance until yesterday. If Rush can make this offense effective by doing the absolute minimum, and we can win games and make Sunday better for everyone( except the delusional fans who somehow think a better number one pick is gonna change anything) I’m all for it.

I can see them getting 1 or 2 more wins with Rush. 3 or more will be a difficult feat. Especially if the Eagles still have seeding to play for when the Cowboys meet them in the 2nd match up.

Lance threw 5 interceptions to guys bagging groceries right now. I mean I am all for tanking, but I think they know exactly what they have in him. San Fran realized they made a mistake with him and moved on. I think Jones and McCarthy really wanted to make the Trey Lance thing work, but both have realized it is a lost cause.
