Might be the most undeserving player in the NFL.

He does nothing outstanding he can’t move. He has no arm strength. He throws pop flies. He has no emotion. The fans are not clamoring for him like most fan base is clamor for a back up quarterback.

The fan base wants to see the third string quarterback, not him playing/ he does nothing to help the organization moving forward.

There’s really no upside to him even being on the roster he’s completely overpaid.

He was awful in that game yesterday fumbling snaps, terrible decisions weak throws behind the receiver, missing wide open targets.

Not playing Trey Lance a guy that you gave up a fourth round pick for and just riding with a clipboard is beyond asinine. This is the time to see if this guy can actually be a serviceable roster player.

Rush is a guy that was released and played for the Giants and somehow found his way back to Dallas.

Again, he adds nothing to the football team.

If he throws five touchdowns on Thursday, it still means nothing he is neither of the present or the future.
All this for a backup 2 million $ QB. :muttley:
Seek answers to where your Cap $ is invested and why we stink and have only 2 playoff wins in 9 seasons.
That is all for now.......................;)

You just can’t let it go. The guy is gone for the season, and you still bury him. Cooper Rush sucks, but I was the first one to tell him great job yesterday even though you didn’t complete 1. -3 down conversion. At least you didn’t give the game away rush thank you

I agree with the last sentence of the OP. But he is the perfect backup. Knows the offense, can win games, demands nothing and is a team player. It's not his fault our QB1 has no consistency and the QB3 experiment failed. He just plays when being asked, keeps his mouth shut and the team seems to be willing to play for him.

What more of your backup QB could you want. That is a huge upside (at minimum the one you need) and his salary is fine. I don't care if they let him go or not, but as long as he was here he has done the job that was expected from him. Period. 6-3. End of story.
He is a good backup QB, but he is far from perfect. Everything you listed about him is great, but you just wish he had more athleticism and physical talent. It doesn't have to be elite, but you just wish he had a bit more - at least something to threaten the defence with.

Nothing like trashing the guy who threw no interceptions, threw 2 touchdowns and lead the team to a win when they were 12.5 point underdogs. We are lucky he is our backup. We could have a lot worse.
Oh yes, could have worse.

Though I would note that one of his touchdowns was on about the biggest blown defensive calls I've ever seen, even Dak can, and has, hit those. Rush also had some absolute ducks for throws, more than he should.

And one win doesn't prove anything except the old saying "On any given Sunday"

You could also note that both Smith and Martin were out, does anybody really believe Richards, Bass etc. are better than Martin and Smith? But there were holes for Dowdle all game, haven't seen that much this year.

I would like to think Dallas can put together a few more wins and not stink up the joint, but we'll see. There's something to be said for opposing teams having to play against people they haven't seen much, if any, before. Every player has different strengths and weaknesses, can surprise folks now and then.

Enjoying the win, but as the carpenter in the movie The Money Pit said, "Let's not get nuts here!"

More games to come...

Trey Lance could’ve done that. It would’ve been nice if he could’ve kept drives going, imagine didn’t complete one third down conversion yesterday.

A bit more, they’re called starters. Which he will never be. Agree.

Very few teams have a fan base clamoring for the backup QB. Most teams it's pretty clear the starter is the better option.

That said, while I agree Rush isn't a guy to get excited about, and he does have physical limitations, the NFL is full of backups that aren't exciting options. And most of them aren't either "the present" or "the future". Most are just guys to drive the bus if the starter is out.
I don't know all the NFL backups, but is there anyone else who has as little athleticism as Rush does?

You went right to "first round picks"...plural. your intellectually dishonest comment is very revealing.

So you value your own players based on thd value placed by other teams?

Weird...but try to enjoy the win as best as you can manage.

I mistyped and meant to say that the Cowboys should eventually receive some offer for a least some later round draft picks or some sort of compensation for Cooper Rush if he is the QB some keep on making him out to be. Then the Cowboys should get something for him in return, especially if the plan is to move on from Dak when his contract is over with this time. All NFL teams should be trying to get something of value for the players they have on the roster, if they aren't playing on that player having much of a future on their team. Hence why all players in the NFL are often rated by the values other teams place or them. And whether or not those teams think certain players are worth giving up some draft pick or other compensation for.

Other players currently on this roster with no long termed future with the Cowboys will be rated by what the front office can get for them, if they aren't going right to free agency after this season. So why should Rush be different since some insists on him being such a great, valuable back up QB? Who some claim how skills better than Dak. Unless some think Cooper Rush should get the starting job, instead of the Cowboys drafting a QB within the next few years to replace Dak.

I know you stopped watching games when Dak got hurt.

If you still watched you’d know that the Cowboys were ahead when Turpin returned that kick.

Dak fans, I tell ya.
The Dak fans are finding out that even a low level player can play as good or better than a $60mil pretender.

They miss him so much, I feel sorry for them, not!

I feel the Commanders back up, Marcus Mariota who is now considered a game manager has more athleticism.

Mariota 40 4.48 Rush 4.93. Did you know there are 17 lineman in the NFL draft who posted a faster 40 time than Cooper?

Mariota vertical 36". Cooper 27". Both are now professional backups in the NFL in yesterday's game.

I know we shouldn't expect superior athletic talent, but geez he looks like he is moving in quick sand and his throw are flying through jello. I beleive we can improve on that position for 2025 - if we actually tried.

I swear I thought you were talking about Dak, because this sentence fits him like a glove.
