actually it was the exact opposite.

I have been watching the past 4 games more closely than earlier in the year.

but then again, what to expect from an eagles fan....
will you stop watching Philly if Hurts gets hurt?
You clearly thought we were losing when Turpin returned that kick.

You ain’t fooling nobody.

Might be the most undeserving player in the NFL.

He does nothing outstanding he can’t move. He has no arm strength. He throws pop flies. He has no emotion. The fans are not clamoring for him like most fan base is clamor for a back up quarterback.

The fan base wants to see the third string quarterback, not him playing/ he does nothing to help the organization moving forward.

There’s really no upside to him even being on the roster he’s completely overpaid.

He was awful in that game yesterday fumbling snaps, terrible decisions weak throws behind the receiver, missing wide open targets.

Not playing Trey Lance a guy that you gave up a fourth round pick for and just riding with a clipboard is beyond asinine. This is the time to see if this guy can actually be a serviceable roster player.

Rush is a guy that was released and played for the Giants and somehow found his way back to Dallas.

Again, he adds nothing to the football team.

If he throws five touchdowns on Thursday, it still means nothing he is neither of the present or the future.
Disagree, he is a great backup for a team whose QB is out for a few weeks. He proved that a few years ago and keep you in the hunt if you have a capable team. Those snaps were very high.

That said, in the current state of the Cowboys, I would rather see Lance buts that because the team is a dumpster fire - no a reflection on Rush!

They say he has the ability to motivate players around him and finds a way to win which is all that matters. So the question will remain is why hasn't an NFL GM for another team in need of a QB seen these qualities enough in Rush to want him at least compete for a starting job on their roster. The logic of some is that Rush should get the credit for the defense and special teams playing well. But not receive any blame or fault for games when the defense or special teams plays poorly.

Some are doing the same things they accuse Dak Supporters of doing. When they say Dak Supporters gives Dak all of the credit for wins and yet none of the blame for losses.
IMHO, its more probably players going oh shiet and we just have to play out of our minds to win games....yesterday defense and special teams played out of their minds.

its not that I have confidence in Dak. I have zero confidence in Rush

Ooh thats exactly whats comming...
Those who aren't happy with McCarthy need to brace themselves just in case Jerry decides to give him the benefit of the doubt. Jerry too could decide to be impressed enough by the Cowboys beating the Commanders with Cooper Rush enough to try and bring back McCarthy. Especially if the Cowboys pulls out a couple of more wins by the time this season ends. Jerry might still disregard how this season started with Dak and the starters. And decide it's unfair to fire McCarthy when the Cowboys got a bunch of injuries and has to start Rush.

he didn't lead the team to a win. two TDs by special teams. two missed PATs by opposing special teams....it was a special kind of day. he needs to be wiping Turpin's arse all week for saving his arse
Sorry but he was winning before the Turpin TD and the onside TD. It was the D that folded like a cheap suit on the last couple drives!

True. I miss the tremendous leadership qualities from Dakota. Just can't teach those intangibles.

They are winning this next game, again no way NY stops tanking now. To be honest it really doesnt matter because until the GM changes nothing was gonna change anyway...

I wish they never payed Prescott , and this is the second reason why. Only thing good thing about him. He’s cheap lol
well, that's our GM for you. last time around, he argued over 1M /year or something like that....then was forced to franchise him because he bluffed, with his hands wide open and showing and he got called. ended up paying way more in one year on franchise tag than all the extra money he would have put in the contract.. then he didn't do anything to find competition, and got cornered again and had to hand him a contract. It wasn't so bad, because that was just about the begining of QB salaries escalating and you want to jump in on the bottom not mid way or at the top..

now I thought best move for both parties would be to part ways. but idiot GM. he thought he could pull another 11, 12 win season and didn't have a single QB under contract for 2025 and thinking he had a good team, while depleting of its talent and signing a bunch of literally Jags, he was forced to sign Dak. again, he bluffed with his hands showing. not only that, he dragged it to the last hour right before start of season. Dak and his agent didn't flinch once.

this is all Jerry's doing. best approach would have been to part ways with some of the talent, let Dak play out his last year and then go after a QB in the draft or somebody else in FA for a year or two, at a lower price and load up on FA and then find a QB that can do it (ala what Rams did).....

but again, we have an Idiot GM...brilliant marketing man, but idiot GM

I swear I thought you were talking about Dak, because this sentence fits him like a glove.
I will reserve any judgements on Dak until he returns in 2025.

This upcoming year I feel will be a big one for him and the organization. We have so many moving parts and way too many questions.

1. How will he perform with all the medical work on his right leg to date?
2. What talent can we add with next year's salary cap?
3. Who is the head coach?
4. Which second, third and fourth year players will truly contribute?

The only thing I can say about Dak right now is if he thought the spotlight was on him the past few years, 2025 is going to be 10x more intense.

the cowboys won....but if you don't take a look at how they won, then you are going to miss the forest because of the trees
Correct, but Cooper did not stink. If he had thrown 2 picks and had a QB rating of say 50 I would have no problem in saying he stunk. Reality is he is not a horrible back up QB. Might be one of the better ones in the league.

so the D folded!?, but their special teams didn't fold and have a big hiccup....and as you just said, the game wasn't over. turpin don't score and they have a chance to make a field goal and go to over time or worse yet, drive and score a TD like they did....... turnpin saved the day... their special team had another hiccup given they also missed to PATs...how often does that happen? how often does it happen in a game? I know of one called Maher, but that's 1 game with multiple PATs missed in how many games played in 50+ years?

lady luck was sitting on his shoulders.

Lance threw 5 interceptions to guys bagging groceries right now. I mean I am all for tanking, but I think they know exactly what they have in him. San Fran realized they made a mistake with him and moved on. I think Jones and McCarthy really wanted to make the Trey Lance thing work, but both have realized it is a lost cause.
....don't leave out Amazon and UPS drivers. (No disrespect to the profession). Jerry rolled the dice to showcase Lance to supplant Dak......and it didn't pan out. Jerry deserves every bit of criticism, but instead the fans have been hypnotized with simply unleashing on Dak. Jerry's fault.

1. He plays within himself knowing his abilities.
2. He can read a defense.
3. He doesn’t demand 60 million/per.

Those are redeeming qualities in my book. It is pretty said that some have to rip him apart for not being elite. He is what he is, a capable backup QB who will never be a starter…and he shouldn’t be.

With that said, Dallas needs to draft a decent QB in 2025 using a mid-rounder to develop. Rush and Lance are FA’s who should not be allowed to return.
