Agreed. A MLB pitcher whose fastball has always been 90-91 MPH, even with years of dedicated "arm strength training" will never be able to throw a 100MPH fastball.

But honestly, arm strength isn't the number one factor in being a successful QB. Rush seems to have the intangibles and plays with anticipation rather than reacting to what he sees. Being smart and accurate can usually overcome the lack of velocity

Yep, Chad Pennington had a weeny arm and was very effective.

so did Joe Montana. is C.Rush the next "joe"...likely not, but in the right scheme with receivers like Beasely and Switzer, his anticipation skills and ability to throw people open separate him from alot of pretenders.

After I posted that, I was like "Joe Montana had a weak arm, should have used him". THere are a lot more than just those two.

He may not have great velocity, he is no george, favre, or moon, but he puts great touch on the ball. If this were baseball, he is no Nolan Ryan, Rob Dibble, or Roger Clemens.....he is more of a Greg Maddux type. BTW, that bodes well for his career long term. You lose arm strength and velocity as you age, but ball placement and touch seem to last longer.
