The question is . . . why?
I think the answer is relatively straightforward and includes a few things:
- Cooper gets the ball out fast and makes the simple throw whereas Dak will hold it longer and take higher risk shots.
- Cooper takes a lot of snaps from under center, which gives the RB a quicker run at the line of scrimmage and allows for play action
When Dak holds the ball and plays every snap out of the gun, he kills the run game, makes the O line look bad and with sacks and turnovers, puts the defense in a terrible spot. This goes back to Parcells. Dallas just needs a bus driver.
Dak can do these things when he comes back. Hopefully this whole exercise is a lesson and if Dallas gains anything from this "run" its a humbled Dak Prescott for the rest of his tenure here.
