Go watch Gallup highlights. He is our throw it up 50/50 ball guy.

I have not forgotten about Gallup at all.. However the fact remains that he has been here the whole time we've been experiencing the red zone issues. Also his are almost always the back shoulder fight for the ball types while this one to Coop was simply a matter of I can get up higher than you and I am stronger than you.. which IMHO was more reminiscent of Dez. I don't recall having seen him or any of our other guys do that in the past and that includes Gallup.

I have long maintained that a big part of the reason the Cowboys have struggled in the red zone since Moore took over is that they lack a true throw it up guy at receiver. The way Cooper elevated and went up to take that ball away from the DB could change my thinking on that. Dude got waaaaay up over that DB and frankly sort of effortlessly plucked it out of the air. That was positively Dez-like. If we can count on him to do that with any regularity we should become an 80% TD in the red zone team.
DB got Mossed :)

this is true elevation and why its termed Got Mossed

I don't think that dB gave alot of effort. If he gets matched up on a beast db....he might have a tougher time with it. Which simply leaves one of our other guys open.

I can't disagree with that assessment.. The DB was pretty trash on that play but the leap was so well timed and the ball so well placed it gives me hope that we can feature this in our red zone arsenal going forward. Maybe you can't do it against better corners.. but hell there are a lot of things you can't do against better corners..

Like i said....if they think that would be a risky matchup...CeeDee wanst to get him one! :D

But going back to your premise....you are right...on that play....I don;t think we have anyone else with the psychical grace he displayed there.

And a very nice pass by Cooper R.

Amen.. thing was a dime and in clear contrast to the "noodle arm" moniker people have saddled him with. Our 4 wide sets coming with Coop, CD, Gallup and Wilson are about to cause pee down the legs of secondaries everywhere. There isn't a defense in football that can cover that.. They either have to get to Dak or get ready to play defense on the next play after the first down.

I was so happy to hear when the Cowboys signed UDFA rookie TJ Vasher this past offseason. Too bad he's still been recovering from a meniscus tear he suffered last year while playing for Texas Tech.

This kid can get up there with the best.

Hope he gets well and makes the team next year.

Hope he beats out Noah Brown....please. Who did BTW fumble on that last drive against Minnesota....would have cost us the game if the penalty hadn't bailed us out.

well his arm and velocity isnt great but i believe its good enough and sometimes it not coming in so hot where balls get tipped or juggled is actually good sometimes. Now in the cold windy wet outdoors is when weaker armed qb can have issues..

that touch and spin were making catches easy.. the strong arm comes in when qbs are trying to get balls through the wind or heavy air or splitting a bracket before the db can close on it..

Ronnie. . . Don t you find it ironic that you are claiming the Cowboys solved their Problematic Red Zone issues the week Dak is on the bench. . . Come on G you aint helping your boy at all.

(Ps Cooper jumped about as High as Jarwin did earlier in the year when you were ripping Him . . . only difference was ball placement and the Man throwing the Ball)

They've been struggling in the red zone this year. But they are getting better. One play doesn't fix the problem, though. We need more from the run game in those short yardage situations.

Ced 6'2" with a 37" vertical
TJ Vasher 6'6" with a 37" vertical.

TJ would be a Red Zone threat as a TE or WR and could force some nasty matchup nightmares.

Cooper has had the ability to do this all along.

Like Cooper said after the game in interviews, “ He knew the team would need a bigger effort from everyone because of Dak’s absence” and he did exactly that.

In road games past, Cooper has gone awol at times but this time he showed what he’s really capable of with attitude and effort.......if he did it every game he’d be a top 3 wr in every metric

Yes Coop has been around.. but we have not seen that throw to him before.. That's what excited me. He had not demonstrated that ability to leap while tracking the ball and pluck it out of the air with a DB all up on him like the before.. At least not that I can recall.
