I have long maintained that a big part of the reason the Cowboys have struggled in the red zone since Moore took over is that they lack a true throw it up guy at receiver. The way Cooper elevated and went up to take that ball away from the DB could change my thinking on that. Dude got waaaaay up over that DB and frankly sort of effortlessly plucked it out of the air. That was positively Dez-like. If we can count on him to do that with any regularity we should become an 80% TD in the red zone team.
Just give these guys a chance to make a play. They over think it sometimes

What am I missing here, isn't the fade to the back corner of the endzone a standard route for everybody? Which qb is throwing the ball and which db is covering determines if it works or not. (?)

Yes the fade is standard.. but other than Gallup we have not had another receiver who could just go up and take the ball away from the DB. CeeDee can't.. not yet anyway.. Wilson can't.. Maybe Brown can but I don't think so. Up to now our red zone passing TDs have depended on separation. At least that's the way it has been with Gallup out. In tight quarters separation is hard to come by.. which makes the ability to just go beast mode on a fool valuable.

I dont know, that pass wasn't that high and the db didn't even contest the ball. I liked the way Coop kept the ball away from his body but really I've just never seen dak or this team succeed with that play, even when Dez was here.

Lol solved all those red zone problems indeed. Cant have red zone problems if you cant even get in the red zone. Give me Rush back. He would have scored some TDs today.
