Coffee shop manager boots cop out of store in Portland, OR. Why? Because the manager said that he and his customers do not feel safe with him around in uniform.:lmao:

Now, I love the natural beauty of Oregon and hope to retire there someday. But, there are just some real nutjobs out there.

I'm guessing that there might be some illegal activity (;) ;) selling weed) going on at this establishment.

There are definitely a lot of severely damaged people who become cops.

Look at this imbecile

What an *** hat. Does this jerk think he's making a statement? Let them get robbed and see how safe they feel when the police refuse to answer their call.

I haven't read the story, but I guess you haven't dealt with cops who aren't fit to flip burgers.

Sure I have, but they have nothing at all to do with this. I also wouldn't like to assume the worst of all because of the actions of a few.

You see similar stuff like this in England, where pubs and restaurants refuse to serve soldiers, if you can believe that.

Just to set the record straight, I am pro-police. Criminals I hate. Police protect me from the bad people.

My only experience with police so far has been 4 speeding tickets. And I was 100% guilty.

That can be applied to all aspects of life, not excluding sexual orientation, race, religious beliefs, etc. I think we're trying as a society to knock that sort of thing off. I don't condone treating a cop like **** because some are richards.

I have no problem with the police at all. They have a job to do like everyone else and they have ***** in their ranks like we all have ***** in life.

I've also found not trying to bull**** or get confrontational with them usually ends with everything being amicable. I speed a lot, I get pulled over a lot. I don't get speeding tickets because I just accept that he's pulled me over and don't make out like he's a dick for doing so.

It's a hard job and there a a lot of good ones, but there are also a lot who get a thrill out of pushing people around and being arrogant.

I know man I've dealt with them. Especially when I was younger and the problematic ones liked messing with kids. Especially long-haired freaks like I was. ;)

I found it funny that some of the poor picked on saps from school went on to become cops. You knew why they did, but they were still outnumbered by better people.

My guess is the store manager just didn't have a good enough vocabulary to state his true feeling. Based on his cut up statement given by the reporter (the one sentence), it was more of a political statement than something to do with security.

The only way the security angle makes sense is they've gotten complaints from their employees about cops, not necessarily this one, harassing them or something.

I don't know the story, but unless the cop was there on official business (or buying weed), he has no need to be at the coffee shop. Just being there for the intimidation factor (yes cops use intimidation EVERYDAY, even in everyday traffic stops) is completely unneccessary.

I never ever been intimidated by a cop then again if you act normal and act reasonable it is all good. Heck in the US their is no reason to be worried they are very limited compared to most countries and if they do get stupid then they get fired and you come off looking like roses.

You must first understand who runs and owns the cafe. And who it's clientele are. Then you may understand why the police are not welcome there.

Why? Cops aren't allowed to take their breaks like the rest of us? They should have restricted rights where they take breaks?

Some pencil-necked loser who's the flip-side of the kind who have become cops to compensate for something? Proves my earlier point: there are ***** in all walks of life, some just think if they focus on a specific group or demographic they'll have it under control.
