The 10 countries that make up CONMEBOL are all automatically in the tournament.

At the official announcement of the tournament, CONMEBOL and CONCACAF confirmed that all ten CONMEBOL members will be joined by six CONCACAF teams in the tournament. United States and Mexico will automatically qualify. The other four spots will be given to Costa Rica, the champions of the Central American Football Union by virtue of winning the 2014 Copa Centroamericana, Jamaica, the champions of the Caribbean Football Union by virtue of winning the 2014 Caribbean Cup, and Haiti and Panama, the two play-off winners among the four highest finishers in the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup not already qualified.[21]

Mexico may have been most impressive team in the tourney before yesterday's bloodletting.

I stopped watching at 3-0.

Hoping US doesn't look as bad versus argentina....

Conmebol is far better than Concacaf....

I've enjoyed this tourney quite a lot.
Lots of end to end.
Reffing has been pretty poor.
Argentina... so fun to watch when Messi hits the pitch.

Messi is just a joy to watch. Hopefully we can contain him but that will be difficult

Me too but I think even with those guys it won't help. I hope I am wrong but Messi is at the top of his game right now and is motivated to bring home a international trophy to his country

I agree but in this sport you never know.

Especially since we actually have a legit back line now. I love our defense. If we had Jones and Bedoya and somehow got up 1-0 I think we could hold it.

I don't trust Cameron. He seems to make mistakes every game. It is challenging to play right back for his club team and then get moved to center back with the national team. I think Brooks is playing very well and is very steady.

Mexicos loss was a soccer accident. But either way Mexico did not play well at all. Both US and Mexico were easily beaten by superior national teams.

Concacaf soccer is ok bc of united states and mexico. But the rest make it horrible and unwatchable. (Jamaica, trinidad, etc)

I don't mind Cameron. He starts for Stoke City so he competes against the best all the time. He's not great or anything but he's solid.

Brooks is the guy with big talent but even he looked out of his league against those guys last night.


I think the only thing we could've done differently is try to play through the fullbacks more.

Every country would love to have a Messi or Ronaldo, but that level of talent is not wide spread. It is the next tier guys that the US needs. All the top countries have those guys.
