I don't really care if other teams try to copy this model.

What I want is for Jerry Jones (and his sons) to fully digest that THIS is the blueprint to success in Dallas, not the splashy Johnny Football or Quincy Carter or Mo Claiborne-type picks, or big contracts on high-priced FAs like Brandon Carr. I hope we continue to devote resources to our lines for years to come and play smashmouth football first and foremost.

I saw some of our Commander counterparts talking about this. Hey, we need to copy Dallas. Start drafting offensive linemen.

Yes. Fortifying the trenches is always the sound thing to do but it's not that easy. You also have to pick the right guys. The Cowboys just struck gold with all three of those 1st rounders and unearthed a gem in UDFA. It's not as easy as to just draft them early.

what i can see if oline going higher and more often in the draft with guards being valued more than before.

O-line already goes high in the draft. But I agree with you about guards (and centers).

I think another thing is how we're running the ball. Yes, we have a strong O-line, a great starting RB, and solid backups, but we're slowing down the pace of the game and making the other team play to our pace. We've always snapped the ball right before a delay of game. That's just always been and always will be our thing. But I think it also helps Murray out and allows him to get 30 carries a game. If you watch the games, Murray will be in a few plays, run a few times, go to the sideline for a few plays, come back in, etc. He's getting a lot of rest in between each run. If we played Philly's style (no huddle, no substitutions, snap the ball in 15 seconds) there's no way Murray would be on pace for 400+ carries. But I'm not knocking Philly. Chip Kelly seems to know what he's doing. I'm just saying I prefer our style of play. For one, you don't wear out the O-linemen, and two, your star RB is able to carry it 30 times. Not to mention, you keep your defense off the field and wear down the opposing defense.

So............how many years until the NFL competition committee passes another wave of rules to promote the passing game? This style of football lends itself to a more physical style...ie concussions which are becoming a negative for the NFL brand........The Cowboys are going against the chickification of the game, how long will that be allowed as more teams jump on the retro-bandwagon.
