I get the feeling that Minnesota is just about ready to move on from him.

Would you guys be interested in trading a 5th round pick for this guy?

Tons of upside, immediately helps our return game, and we have his old Head Coach in College.

Patterson would be an interesting roster addition but I think he could be acquired for a 6th rounder.

Wow, what a bust it would be to trade a guy drafted that high so recently for a 5th or 6th rounder.

Im just speculating really.

I know they like Wallace, Johnson, and Diggs. They also have Jarius Wright but he is a meh player.

I think Cordarelle is kind of a clown and maybe being in an environment like we have could help him.

Certainly would help our return game.
I'm not sure if we've reached our clown and/or baggage quota or not

Since he's still on a rookie deal, I don't know why they'd want to part with him yet.
He's a dangerous return man

Nope. Not a fan of giving up picks for any player who busted someplace else.

Now, giving him a shot when he's on the street is another matter. Cordarelle was a killer in the screen game as a rookie. Has he dropped off that much since then? I haven't heard anything about him in camp in MIN, either way.

Here's an interesting bit of speculation that says that the Vikings traded up for Patterson in 2013 because they had information that Dallas intended to draft him.

Take it for what it's worth, but it would indicate that Dooley liked and wanted him. If he's made available, maybe we would give them a 5th round pick?

Yeah I remember that.

He still needs to develop his WR skills but the guy is probably the best NFL return man.

It would be huge if we could find a difference maker there.

I would be happy to give a fifth for his return game alone. He's young enough where his game could improve as a wide receiver, but I'd want him more for the field position battle. Looking at his stats and it doesn't seem like he returned any punts at minny. Anyone recall if he returned punts at tenn?

It's been reported locally that Dallas had planned to draft him with the trade down. I think they saw him as another Dez. They lucked out being forced to take Fred - early or not.

No doubt Fred was the better pick. Sometimes, it's the moves you don't make!

I do wonder where both teams' opinion of Patterson stand today?

It is probably either him or Stephon Diggs though

They also have MWallace, Jarius Wright, Charles Johnson, Eric Theilan

No! The guy is Dumber than dumb. Can't learn the playbook and can't run routes.

Count me OUT.

If Minnesota were inclined to release him, which I doubt, I'd trade a pick for him just as a returner.

edit: maybe not, he doesn't return punts

Not sure why he would be available. Even if he was fighting for the last WR spot on the roster, what usually determines that battle? Special teams, and it's hard to imagine any of the other guys he'd be competing against would be able to offer anything close to what he can.
