Corn on Cobb

Murray, McFadden, Morris all did pretty well

Those players you mentioned are Elite/good but part of their success was Dallas having a top tier OL and investing in the Running game by giving the RBs Majority of the touches in the offense aka system.

Emmitt wouldn’t have the rushing record without that OL.

What about Murray, McFadden, Morris who all had success running behind this OL?
Huh, huh, huh??????

I love the media narrative that Dallas doesn’t have any receivers the only offense is Zeke with 1,000 carries, only Zeke can do it for the Cowboys nothing matter besides running left, running middle, or running right ,

Run guys, running is all we can do , cause running away your problem is easier

Until you can pass your problems to someone else lol!

He didn't leave any corn on the cob on that one. :lmao2:

We were 3-5 with Zeke and went 7-1 once cooper arrived. Glean from that what you will.
We had JV receivers. Zeke allowed Cooper to get single coverage, Cooper will beat any single coverage the majority of the time. They work hand in hand. Dak isn't good enough to thread the needle to subpar receivers. He needs both Coop and Zeke. Cobb and a seasoned Gallup should make us pretty scary.

Since when are TDs not great plays
Uh, it was a scrimmage play. No safety was behind Cobb. It likely wouldn't have gone for a touchdown. Also, Lewis slipped. That doesn't constitute on great play on Cobb's behalf.
And, yes, touchdowns can be routine also. A one-yard run into the end zone is a TD, but it isn't necessarily a great play.

Murray, McFadden, Morris all did pretty well
McFadden was a first-round draft choice who had a 1,000 yards with the Raiders. He came with credentials.
Morris never broke the 1,000 mark with the Cowboys, but he was a serviceable back.
Murray had that one year.
Still, they don't represent system backs. Please define "system" back? What is the system?
When I think of the Broncos and their one-cut system, I think of system back. But not the Cowboys. The Cowboys historically have relied on top tier backs.

No, they were ELITE backs. Now, granted, no back can run without a good offensive line, so, technically, all backs would be "system" backs. But the Cowboys rode to a Super Bowl with Duane Thomas, Calvin Hill, Tony Dorsett and Emmitt Smith. They didn't with Murray, who basically cost them advancing in the playoffs with his fumble against Green Bay.

Emmitt wouldn’t have the rushing record without that OL.
You're looking at this backwards. No other back except Emmitt would have had the rushing record WITH that OL. When Emmitt got injured or sat out, Curvin Richards could do nothing behind that line, Derrick Lassic couldn't do anything behind that line, Sherman Williams couldn't do anything behind that line, Blair Thomas couldn't do anything behind that line. EMMITT made the Cowboys line more than those other backs did or could. As Nate Newton said, before Emmitt he was just a fat OL, with Emmitt he was a Pro Bowl OL.
Furthermore, Emmitt's durability and power contributed to his rushing record.

What about Murray, McFadden, Morris who all had success running behind this OL?
No one is arguing they didn't have success. I'm asking you what do you mean by "system" backs?
Are you REALLY arguing that the Cowboys will be as successful with the backs they have compared to Zeke? :omg:

Here's an article on what it means to be a system back. Granted, I don't know what you mean by "system" so if you can provide a definition, I would be more open to your analysis. I mean, you could be right.
But absent any additional information, it would appear to me that finding an elite/good running back has been the catalyst for the Cowboys' running success.
Anyway, for your reading edification.

How does Mike Shanahan always churn out running back successes

Zeke caught 77 balls and like 22 first downs last year. He does more than run right, middle, left.

Cobb will have a very good year Imo.
..I can see that happening as well. Cobb is one of those resilient low radar players who works hard and make things happen. He will complement the cowboys well. This was a great move by Jerry imo.

Cobb and a seasoned Gallup should make us pretty scary.
The Cowboys have a pretty solid trio. Exciting pups with speed behind them.

Add in a good receiving threat at TE and Zeke in the backfield and now we're cooking!!!

Can't argue that. Balance requires a good wr and a good rb. As for gallop, he's been looking good. If dak can step up his game and Kellen is all we hope he can be, should be a good year.

You don't have to be that quick when the defender falls down.

Do we have to tear down the best RB in the NFL because of media nonsense ? Cobb was hurt last year ; but I guarantee the Bears wouldn't say Randall didn't burn them in their season opener..........................
