Isn't lard pure trans-fat? Unless they came out with a new trans-fat free lard.

That depends on the hog. If the hog was raised in confinement pig factories where it never sees the outside world, then the pork may contain many unhealthy attributes but if a hog is raised outdoors on pasture eating its natural foods, then the fat contains high amounts of omega-3 fatty acids that are very beneficial and the fat from these animals actually reduces the buildup of plaque in arteries and and is very healthful.

The problem isn't the pork, it's the confinement operations that corrupt the pork. Natural pork is beneficial to eat. It is our modern food manufacturers that are distorting the truth. The modern vegetable oils are downright unhealthy in that they cause long term damage that leads to heart disease and cancer.

Big businesses distort the facts to get people to buy their products thinking they are safe when they are not. Don't take their word for it, do your own research, that is what the internet was originally designed for.

Wanna get rich? Buy health care stocks as the number of patients increase in direct proportion to the rate at which we replace natural foods with manufactured foods.

Life is good if you eat right. I am 72, put in a full day's work and then some, am healthy and still kinda sexy and I am on no medications at all. Out our way, people who eat the old fashioned way live into their mid-90s while those who live on packaged and processed foods and the modern diets usually die decades earlier. The older one gets, the more they notice such things.

You need to be careful around smokers and charcoal grills as burned and smoked meats can contain carcinogens that can cause stomach and intestinal cancers. A little smoke is good, a lot of smoke is bad.

We are what we eat; or more specifically, what we eat contributes greatly to what we become.
