Wow!

I counted like 7 or 8 guys below 4.4

DRC, also known as "our guy" ran a 4.33.

WOW!

A tall corner with that kind of speed. Sheesh!
I'd say no way he sees 22 but there were a handful of very, very fast CBs.

Mike Jenkins and Tracy Porter also blazed.
Jenkins and DRC are my top 2 CBs at this point.

Any word on Cason's 40 time?

I believe all the times are relative now that guys have learned how to train and shave time off their 40s using track technique, etc.

I'm not saying the times aren't important, I'm just saying 4.4 and below is becoming more commonplace now for the skill position athletes.

Albert Breer E-mail News tips

The official 40-yard dash times from the defensive backs have been released and, as expected, they differ a little bit from the Network's instant times.

Here's the list, with our man DRC replaced at the top by Penn State CB Justin King.

1. Justin King, Penn State: 4.31
2. Tyrod Branch, UConn: 4.31
3. Orlando Scandrick, Boise State: 4.32
4. Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, Tennessee State: 4.33
5. Josh Barrett, Arizona State: 4.35
6. Terrence Wheatley, Colorado: 4.37
7. Tracy Porter, Indiana: 4.37
8. Michael Grant, Arkansas: 4.37
9. Jonathan Wilhite, Auburn: 4.38
10. Leodis McKelvin, Troy: 4.38

It's not even just his 40, he's absolutely killing every drill. He's got quick feet, and has yet to drop a ball. I don't think he goes 7th overall to the Pats, but if he lasts till 22nd, I will be absolutely shocked.

If he could be had with our second rd. pic...be our #3 CB, and return man that would make you happy???

I like that idea...
I'd plotz if we could get him in the 2nd. At football speed the guy stayed with DeSean Jackson like a glove. He fights for the ball and defends the pass.

That's before we discovered that DeSean was actually a midget.:laugh2:

yeah, I was hoping the 4.45/4.49 time the NFLN gave him would cause him to slip

but he's fast, and he's a good athlete, w/ good hand/eye coordination and great feet, he only lacks physicality, although he can be physical at times

Interesting, Vintage kinda brought him to my attn by saying he reminded him of Newman.

And then he did an ESPN chat at the senior bowl, and he said that Newman was who he modeled his game after, I believe.
