Costas says TO deeply disturbed man

I will guarantee, BP was called and told about the T.O. situation as quick as any other person in the Cowboy organization

I've always believed TO has some buried emotional issues. Maybe I'm naiive, but I just find it hard to imagine how anyone who grew up with his upbringing couldn't carry a little emotional baggage.

I don't know if emotional baggage equates to "mentally disturbed" or not.

But the outcome of today's events does nothing to prove that he is bothered in any way, even if some will continue to suggest it does (IMO).
That is so true Dale. Very good points.

Thanks much, icyhot, for the link!

For years I have held Costas in high regard. He's a bright guy, very well spoken, unusually perceptive. I think he has some class, too. I truly like his work.

I'm disappointed in him today.

He jumped on the bandwagon (and radio) before the story was developed, assumed that the worst version of the story was true, and then went on to say bad things about a guy who he (Costas) thought had just attempted suicide.

Yeah, I'm disappointed in him. But I guess we all make mistakes.

I am beggining to think that putting a bounty on reporters is just as valid as putting one on lawyers.

That hurts ...... just a little ..... but it hurts. LOL

I just want to recommend this Costas link (the one at the top of this thread) to anybody who likes Bob Costas.

I found it interesting and disappointing.

I have always thought this as well. As someone mentioned, ESPN Sportscentury aired his Profile two nights ago and it just gave you an interesting peek into where the man came from and the people that raised him.

I think some things mentioned about some of the things he went through as a child still haunts him. Alot of people in this world have bad things happen to them, it is just some people are able to handle it better.

I personally think T.O. is still bothered by some of it.

To the point where he does crave media attention? Perhaps.

But to the point of being suicidal in his thirst to get it? No.
