Coughlin at work

Coughlin, stop being a pansy.

We got off 2 plays in 9 seconds, .. that is not a stretch.

Tom is a ******. It was really 2 plays in 9 seconds, the last play didnt matter time wise. The Witten pass took 3 seconds and the Austin play took 5 seconds, is it that hard to comprehend?

you would have thought that the guy would be grateful that we gave the game to him.

Hehe, I think the clock operator fudged the 10 seconds. It appears as a 10 on the scoreboard, but was probably 10.99 on the backend, plus with reaction time delay starting the clock, it took longer than 2 seconds for the clock to advance from 10 to 9.

http://imgur.com/a/dgO6q#0 (first image is zero time, and subsequent images advance in half second increments)

Regardless of that, I think a line judge or someone is down there keeping track of time too.

BTW, the frame accurate play length to Witten was 4.37 seconds. That would leave 5.63 seconds remaining.

The frame accurate incompletion to Austin was 5.6 seconds.

There would have been 0.03 seconds left on the clock for the last play if they were timed by HD cameras.

I know. Seriously. He's a little, lucky, annoying, weasel.

When asked if the Giants can get three plays off in 10 seconds, Coughlin said, "I don't think so."

Coughlin is an idiot.

The Giants got three plays in 12 seconds in the third quarter of the SAME GAME, and they weren't even trying to save time --

2-9-NYG 22 (8:32) (Shotgun) E.Manning pass incomplete short left to A.Brown. Pass incomplete on a quick "Bubble Screen."

3-9-NYG 22 (8:26) (Shotgun) E.Manning pass incomplete short left to R.Barden (B.Carr). Pass incomplete sideline at the New York 30.

(8:21) (Punt formation) S.Weatherford punts 51 yards to DAL 27, Center-Z.DeOssie. D.Harris to DAL 41 for 14 yards (S.Paysinger).

Plus, the clock kept running for several seconds after both of Manning's incompletions. In reality, the first two plays took no more than seven seconds combined. They could have gotten three plays in eight seconds if the clock had stopped as soon as the passes hit the ground.

And, when the Giants were trying to come back in their loss to Philadelphia and trying to save time, they had two separate sequences of three plays in 10 seconds --

1-10-NYG 35 (1:43) (Shotgun) E.Manning pass incomplete short right to V.Cruz.

2-10-NYG 35 (1:39) (Shotgun) E.Manning FUMBLES (Aborted) at NYG 30, and recovers at NYG 30. E.Manning pass incomplete short left to R.Barden.

3-10-NYG 35 (1:34) (Shotgun) E.Manning pass short right to V.Cruz to NYG 44 for 9 yards (B.Boykin).

----------

2-10-PHI 35 :)58) (Shotgun) E.Manning pass incomplete short right to R.Barden (N.Asomugha).

3-10-PHI 35 :)53) (Shotgun) E.Manning pass incomplete short right to R.Barden. PENALTY on PHI-N.Asomugha, Defensive Pass Interference, 8 yards, enforced at PHI 35 - No Play. X20

1-10-PHI 27 :)49) (Shotgun) A.Bradshaw left tackle to PHI 26 for 1 yard (C.Jenkins).

Last week against the Commanders, the Giants got off three plays in NINE seconds to start the second quarter --

1-10-WAS 21 (15:00) E.Manning pass incomplete short right to M.Bennett.

2-10-WAS 21 (14:56) E.Manning pass incomplete short middle to D.Hixon (P.Riley).

3-10-WAS 21 (14:52) (Shotgun) E.Manning pass short right to A.Bradshaw to WAS 11 for 10 yards (L.Fletcher).

In the game before that, the Giants ran three plays in 10 seconds --

1-10-SF 12 (10:07) (Shotgun) E.Manning pass incomplete short left to V.Cruz.

2-10-SF 12 (10:03) D.Diehl reported in as eligible. E.Manning pass incomplete short right to V.Cruz (C.Rogers).

3-10-SF 12 (9:58) (Shotgun) E.Manning pass incomplete short left to D.Hixon.

On the Giants' game-winning drive in the regular season against the Patriots last year, they ran three plays in 10 seconds --

1-10-NE 21 :)35) (Shotgun) E.Manning pass incomplete deep left to V.Cruz. PENALTY on NE-S.Brown, Defensive Pass Interference, 20 yards, enforced at NE 21 - No Play. X22

1-1-NE 1 :)30) J.Cordle reported in as eligible. E.Manning pass incomplete short left to J.Ballard [A.Carter].

2-1-NE 1 :)26) J.Cordle reported in as eligible. B.Jacobs up the middle to NE 1 for no gain (G.Guyton; V.Wilfork).

Against Buffalo last year, three plays in nine seconds --

1-10-NYG 21 :)34) (Shotgun) A.Bradshaw left tackle to NYG 30 for 9 yards (N.Barnett, Sp.Johnson). Timeout #2 by NYG at 00:30.

2-1-NYG 30 :)30) (Shotgun) E.Manning pass incomplete deep right to V.Cruz.

3-1-NYG 30 :)26) (Shotgun) A.Bradshaw right tackle to NYG 31 for 1 yard (A.Moats).

Against Arizona last year, another three plays in nine seconds --

1-10-ARZ 12 :)13) (Shotgun) E.Manning pass incomplete short left to H.Nicks (P.Peterson).

2-10-ARZ 12 :)09) (Shotgun) E.Manning pass incomplete short left to A.Bradshaw [A.Wilson].

3-10-ARZ 12 :)05) L.Tynes 30 yard field goal is GOOD, Center-Z.DeOssie, Holder-S.Weatherford.

I could go on and on with examples of the Giants running three plays in 10 seconds or less. It happens very often in the NFL when the offense is trying to save time.

Coughlin is an "idiot" that has 2 SBs... If he were the Cowboys coach with 2 SBs, he'd be untouchable to us... He's not an idiot..

He's an idiot if he thinks there's anything unusual about running three plays in 10 seconds. It's not unusual at all.

And plenty of successful people are idiots.

Nothing to see...just Coughlin sticking up for his team and his players. He is the best coach in the NFL right now, he knows all the right buttons to push.

Coughlin knows when to rip his team, when to praise them, etc. It's what separates him from Belichick

When the Cardinals beat the Dolphins a few weeks ago, they ran four plays in 14 seconds on their game-tying drive at the end of regulation -- a sequence of three plays in nine seconds overlapping a sequence of three plays in 10 seconds.

Not uncommon at all.

He's a great coach who's laying the groundwork for the next time his team is in a similar situation.
We have yet to see JG get angry, miffed, PO'd, let alone ballistic about ANYTHING since he's been HC.
At what point does he pull a Parcells and sit Dez or FJ?
What he's doing is not working- the players don't seem to be listening, and if we keep losing will start to tune him out.
Coughlin famously changed his persona when he started to lose his team- can/will JG do the same?

No, it just means he's trying to make the refs think about clock management against an opponent.

Even if it was a matter of his perception, anybody can pick out quotes for essentially any human being on the planet who made some dumb observation based upon perception. It's called being human.

Further if your successful once, you can be an idiot. But when success happens twice, chances are your not an idiot.

Like I said, if Coughlin was the Cowboys caoch that won 2 SBs and he made this same statement, I'm pretty sure he'd be untouchable and the 'idiot' word would suddenly escape us fans...

Exactly. Look at the Donald. :p:

Coughland is a very good coach but he whines like a little girl sometimes. He reminds me of my grandmother.

Hate on coughlin if you want, but his pansy *** ways get's him rings.

Coughlin is talking about the last few plays where Romo had taken the snap and dropped back and the clock doesn't seem to have started.

YOU ROCK!!!
