Bowers underwent arthroscopic surgery shortly after Clemson's loss to South Florida in the Meineke Car Care Bowl in Charlotte, according to Bamberg-Ehrhardt coach Kevin Crosby, the school's defensive coordinator in 2008 when Bowers was the nation's No. 1 recruit.

The surgery was first reported Monday by the website draftinsider.net. Bowers, a defensive end who led the nation with 15.5 sacks in 2010, played most of the season with a partially torn meniscus, according to a source close to the player.

My nephew played in that game! Kicking Bowers butt! :laugh2:

He is in the draft this season too, but if he does get drafted it will be late, or be an UDFA.

He was the lead blocker for Chris Johnson at ECU. (Kevin Gidrey) When Johson got drafted, the ECU coach switched to South Florida and he followed him down there.

Missing the combine won't have any affect on his draft stock, athleticism was never a question for Bowers. The only thing teams worry about with him is that he was a bit of a one year wonder production wise and the Combine won't have any affect on that.
