Could a strong finish save McCarthy's job?

Just when we thought this team had quit on him we continued to claw and fight with our best performance in almost 2 months.

So for all of those who feel his tenure is all but over in Dallas , be careful what you wish for. A strong finish with this team could at least get him a 1 year extension.

I know . Winning is more fun. Yesterday was quite fun for a season all but officially over. But if he can coach this deflated roster up then our problem here isn’t coaching.

Perhaps reality will return on Thursday against the hapless Jints but if we are looking ahead we have some winnable games for a 4-7 team with some fight left looking to save their HC’s job.

I doubt it. we are going to play against 3 teams picking in the top 10.....the giants are for sure in worse situation than us. they have already throwin in the towel by cutting Jones.
panthers are a bad team, but they may actually have a chance against us. and I think we lose to Cinci.

looking hald decent against crappy teams is not a vote of confidence.

Even in victory, Dallas seemed disorganized and just bad. McCarthy should have been fired for that 85-yard TD at the end alone.

No. The team looked totally unprepared. How does that save his job? It's called luck. If your life is saved because you slipped on a banana as a bullet flew over your head, are you to be lauded? Someone else turned their head as a bullet flew past, should those protecting him be given the credit? It was dumb luck. McCarthy is awful. Dallas wins despite him. Similar to Switzer.

I said in another thread........everyone ( including Jerry ) knows Jerry hung him out dry. Coz of that, I think he will be evaluated THIS season NOT on W/Ls but on how well he can hold the team/players together. Hats off to him......they are playing hard.

Totally unprepared? How? They beat a better team on a day when they had a backup QB and backups all over the field. Yesterday was a great coaching job, other than STs.

But no, Mike won't be saved here. A part of him will probably feel relieved about it, too.

100%......Mike probably knows he's done as Cowboys HC but that doesn't/shouldn't stop him from coaching for 31 other teams. Three 12-5 seasons maybe get him a couple of interviews

Mike is out of here. He put his house on the market. He wants out of this clown car.

He tore his hamstrings on the bone........ this says more about you than Dak. Trash him all you want for his on-field play but there's nothing funny about another person ( football player or not ) injuries.
He’s an Egirls fan and Dak troll. Don’t waste your time.

Maybe , maybe not .

It’s not like his phone will be ringing off the wall. And our prospects don’t look too promising.

I’m not sold our problems are all coaching related.

If he can get to 9-8. I think its 50/50.

Does Mike actually want to come back?
Good question. I’d say based on what I’ve read and heard, maybe .

It’s why a strong finish could change the narrative . We’ll see.

But I think it’s a forgone conclusion otherwise .
