Has a lot more time on the field have to leave him out there imo. This is basically greens rookie year again with injuries last year.

That's fair enough but he seemed to handle Tyron's snaps pretty decent when he sat at the tougher LT position. The only way this kid is going to get better is to play. I can't see the drop off between Free and Green, at this point being THAT significant. Maybe I'm wrong (wouldn't be the first or last time).

A seven game losing streak followed by a five game losing streak will throw a wet blanket on the most ardently enthusiastic fan.

I'd be OK with trying it. That's what I think this season should be about. Trying new things see if we have a future. Won't be a lost season like last year.

That's what I really like about Pete Carroll. That guy plays his young guys knowing that it will pay off in the end, He knows the value that the experience has with his young players. He'll live with their mistakes and use them as teaching opportunities.

Put Leary in at guard and move Collins to right tackle.. problem solved.

I'm not sold on Chaz Green being on the field much less being a permanent right tackle. I could be wrong but he scares the crap out of me.

Pete Puff Carroll shops at Baskin Robins. JG hits the same ice cream aisle at the same spot every time and grabs the same vanilla flavor.

I asked this very question Sunday night and was promptly advised that it's a bad idea...

It can't be any worse of an idea than running a TE screen to Witten in the flats multiple times (the definition of insanity).

Free's play has become dangerous.

I wonder if Collins could be moved to Right tackle and then put Leary back in at guard. To me, its all about getting the best five guys out there.

My only concern with Green is his conditioning and its a big one. He gets tired right now and gets very sloppy. A well conditioned Green is a much OT then Free right now IMO. He looked very good with the first team in Preseason, but as games wore on he got tired and very sloppy

I'm not sure he's ready for right tackle. Dallas practiced and played him primarily at left tackle during the preseason. I think it might take him a while to get his footwork right for right tackle. It appeared to me that the focus this year was just to get him acclimated at the position he knows to see if he is capable of stepping in or if the team needed to bring in a veteran.

I'm not sure at this point in his development if he would go in at right tackle if Free was injured. I suspect we'd try him there, but with the possibility of having to move Smith to to the right side in mind.

Again, the only reason I think that is that we haven't really played Green on the right, although I'm sure he's been practicing there since camp ended and Dallas was certain he would be the backup tackle.

I don't know bro. The only O-lineman I'm more disappointed in than Free is Collins. I don't think he's tackle material at the pro level. Right now, honest to goodness, it wouldn't hurt my feelings a bit if they pulled Collins and inserted Leary. It doesn't seem like he's progressed at all since last season. He doesn't seem to be playing with balance at all right now. At the tackle spot, that's a deal breaker.

Fair point and I won't argue because I don't know what his experience level on that side is. I just assumed that he may be able to handle the duties because he's our swing tackle (I assumed that meant that he could play both sides. Though I could definitely be wrong about that)

It would make sense that he has experience as both LT and RT as he is the swing tackle.

Given his conditioning issue, we could at least rotate Green with Free. Perhaps 10 plays for each as a start. If that works out, perhaps 15 plays for Green and 10 for Free etc.

Question is what happens if Green gets hurt and we would need Free to backup the LT spot...
Whereas a number of emergency options are available for RT like Martin and Collins...
